Cash-strapped TH Heavy Engineering Bhd, whose share price had surged in active trade recently, has attracted the attention of Bursa Malaysia Securities.

Companies eye Perisai assets


MALAYSIA: According to local news reports, companies are interested in buying the assets of Perisai Petroleum Teknologi Bhd.
Earlier this month, Perisai Petroleum formally notified Malaysia's stock exchange or Bursa Malaysia that it is in default. Perisai currently has one working jackup, Perisai Pacific 101. It also has two more yet-to-be delivered jackups at PPL Shipyard - Perisai Pacific 102 and Perisai Pacific 103 - which were originally due for delivery in first half 2015 and July 2016 respectively. Delivery has been pushed back a few times, with the handover now looking uncertain. In addition to the jackups, Perisai also owns support vessels, a floating production storage and offloading unit, a mobile offshore production unit and an offshore construction vessel. It is understood that the company will only sell the assets as a last resort, if it is unable to secure any form of funding.
