Ripped from Paul Tan's page. QUOTE This lightly disguised Toyota Belta has been sighted doing test rounds around Thailand, and images of it have been circulating around the internet. It was posted in the Automotive Forums by reader stephen_ksf. Have a look at the other two photos after the jump and you will find an undisguised rear shot which carries the VIOS badge on the boot lid. Looks like Thailand will be getting a new Toyota VIOS replacement very soon. The Toyota VIOS was only introduced in our market in the year 2003, and was facelifted last year in 2006. That's three years before a facelift - it's currently 2007, perhaps we'll get a new model change in 2008 or 2009.
Rumour is that the new 2nd generation Toyota VIOS on our market will also offer a 1.3 liter version priced somewhere between the Perodua Myvi and the VIOS 1.5 liter, about 65k or so, which will definitely prove to be a Proton killer. But then again, rumours and word of mouth shall remain just that, just rumours, until any official announcement or press release. There are plenty of rumours going around of so-called pending new models to be released soon, they usually center around the Nissan Note and the Toyota Ractic being offered at impossible RM4x,xxx price ranges.
Anyway, have a look at the other two photos after the jump, and if you haven't visited the forums and signed up for an account to participate yet, feel free to do so!

The bottom one has a VIOS badge, not sure if it's the same car as the ones on top of it.

If only the dash has conventional 1-din or 2-din HU setup, I rather wait for this. Nevertheless, although the 2nd gen. vios strike modern design, I still prefer my current vios which spot more altezza-ish looks if fitted with good bodykit This post has been edited by igor_is300: Jan 19 2007, 11:29 AM

Ya i've seen this car in Melb a couple of months back. It's a Yaris Sedan. Msia's new car market is depressingly slow. Take a look at Spore's Cefiro and look at ours...sigh Msia Msia

I don't consider this a generation newer than Vios wor.. I just consider it as half generation newer... because current Vios stand in between the old Yaris n new Yaris.. some more this car already close to 2 years old in UK/US market leh...

QUOTE(accs_centre @ Jan 19 2007, 10:21 PM) This new stock Vios doesnt looked really nice.. The facelifted one does attracted me.. if this baby comes with pink, omg! i'm gonna scream like a baby!!! it'l be in my wish-list! imagine, 1.3L sedan!!!
btw, this baby is called Belta in JP, and is called Yaris Sedan in other countries. it does not replace Corolla, and is not in Vios's line too. its placed in the economical line of new model. meaning to say that this baby is in a new platform. if UMW wish to replace the vios with this, then they havta replace it with a 1.5L as its originally 1.3L. c the road tax price, wad a baby! This post has been edited by don^don: Jan 20 2007, 01:24 PM

High percentage that there will be no Vios 1.3 in Malaysia market... Vios only 1.5... because need to consider also Avanza 1.3...
