Hi all, my sister is using Dell Vostro for 2 years until now KO.
Why KO? Power button problem. My sister need to use for university assignment. Just bought new Asus laptop.

I'm using Lenovo Z50-70 and the laptop is just 1 year plus then already become very slow (Lag too much).

My brother is using Toshiba.
Repair for the 1st time for USB port stuck in. ( Accidentally drop the laptop on the table with Mouse receiver plugged in)
Repair for the 2nd time for Overheating
Repair for the 3rd time for Missing screw.
After all repaired case, they ask to pay even still on warranty. ( Wanna change keyboard ).

At last now the keyboard some of the keys are not working. Have to press hard to get the letter or numbers.

My best options are Asus and HP.

Asus is cheap but quality is Good.

HP is expensive is the best.

You got it so wrong bro. My first laptop dell inspirion 5000 last me more than 5 years and I have seen those of my friends staying in the same hostel using ACER, ASUS or HP sending their sets for repair throughout the period. I'm using dell xps 15 9550 since it first launched in Malaysia last year and the built quality is fantastic, theres some drivers issues at first but dell sorted it out.

you should change to SSD or defrag your HDD often. If not surely will lag

did you try to send that Dell laptop for RMA? try to check if the warranty if it's still available

dell has legendary warranty here and i experienced it myself a few months ago. called dell for RMA of my monitor. next day they came to replace with a refurbished monitor (monitor has been discontinued, so no choice)

else, just send to shop to fix it then. shouldn't be much of a problem i think

and if your laptop is getting slower, there's TONS of possible causes. maybe your laptop has accumulated dust, so the fans don't push out hot air as good which leads to getting your laptop heat up and causing thermal throttling.
or maybe your HDD is not healthy anymore and needs to be replaced
or maybe there's some program in the background interfering with your other programs

i could go on and on about the possible problems.

but from what i see, this is like a bashing thread. you're not even providing enough details on your problems.

if you want something to just work, then buy apple then

Apple is expensive, don't know how to use Mac OS. Don't know how is their quality.

3. thermal paste change every 2 years.
4. clean the laptop of slime and prints.

I had many Dell laptops before and they served me good. They are reliable and the after sales support was magnificent.
Now using Sony Vaio Flip 13 as my daily driver. Also good and I am satisfied with the performance. Not into gaming though.
My past laptop that gave me headache was the Lenovo Y560 for its over heating and the hinge that broke too many times.....

Funny how you know its bad and still bought it, and now complaining. It totally contradict what you always say in air cond thread.

I bought Acer too, despite all the complaints I read about. Why? Best bang for buck, not warranty. I was lucky that I never had any problem with it until the day it was stolen. Will I encourage other to buy Acer? Yes and No. Yes if you are really tight on budget and no if your main concern is after sales services. One point though, Acer after sales is  really not bad, they are pretty decent. Just that why would anyone choose to buy something unreliable in the first place if thats their main concern.
*
Acer is an old model, no one will buy.

I had 4 Dell notebooks before and each of the notebook served me well 5 to 7 years. I replaced them not because they are broken or what.... I replaced them due to the fact I was following technology and always wanted better specs and better looks. I have only 1 with me now, collecting dust as I seldom use it. The others I have given away to siblings and family member, still working fine though now.
