small, under the seat:
kenwood w00x ~600-800
boschmann ~800

normal sub 8"-12", powered amp ~100-300
branded sub 8"-12", powered amp ~200-800

*better buy cheap 2 channel amp, small sub+small box = better tongue.gif
*and next time, state ur budget first! laugh.gif

tks all for replying.
my budget is less than rm600. found out that the alpine one costs rm850. had no idea these active subwoofers cost so much.
i hv space issue, the only place to put subwoofer is under the front seat. the 4 stock speaker holes are only 4" which i've put in 4 units of 4" alpine 2-way speakers. sounds ok but short of bass.
any other cheaper alternative? i'm new to ICE.

Driving a Renault Kangoo. need to carry things and ppl occassionally therefore, having a big box with sub woofer is not an option and don't want to cut up a new car.

a bandpass will filter the HF and the LF. A normal box will only have HF filter, acoustic suspension (seal) or base reflex (ported). It's super hard to tune a bandpass, i don't recommend that unless u get a pro who know how to do that, which i doubt there are any here because 99% of the ppl here either do a ported or sealed box.

Pro: u get better bass in the bandpass frequency

Cons: frequency cut off below the bandpass frequency

you might want to try out the alpine active sub
