QUOTE(frozenthrone @ Feb 28 2007, 01:14 AM) i found some nice info from anandtech # ASUS M2NPV-VM (Global site) or ASUS M2NPV-VM (USA site)http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cf...hreadid=1803985 i'm ended buying asus m2npv-mx....waiting for u guys to give nice review here... The specifications are basically the same as ASUS A8N-VM CSM. * Memory: DDR2 800/667/533 ECC and non-ECC, un-buffered memory, max 8GB * Audio: AD1986A 5.1 Ch. HD, the same as A8N-VM CSM. * BIOS: FSB from 200MHz to 400MHz. No HTT multiplier options. No CPU voltage adjustment. DDR2 Voltage: Auto (1.8V) or 1.9V. Actual overclocking is very POOR. Many report no booting at FSB 215MHz to 220MHz. * Accessories: 1 x HDTV/AV/S output module (component, composite, S video). No S/PDIF module. 1 x IEEE1394a module. * AMD LIVE(tm) ready p/s: doesn't look impressive at all |

lohwenli... can you post Systool AM2 memory timing screenshot with your maximum "BIOS set" overclocking? i want to try to figure out why there's HTT limit in bios but not in windows. I hate windows overclocking.

To tell you guys the truth, the term 'gaming mobo' is just a marketing gimmick. Any mobo can be used for gaming, it all depends on your cpu and gpu power, as well as the amount of ram you have.
A super expensive so-called gaming mobo with a puny little graphic card is no match for a cheap mainstream mobo with fast cpu and a 8800GTX with 4GB of ram. |
