My condo has aprox 10.5 ft ceiling height with 1.5 ft beams. I have been thinking should I fully conceal the beams in my bedroom with plaster ceiling which will make my ceiling only 9 ft high. Contractor suggest to make use of the beams to create ceiling light through, but I don't really like too much light through in bedrooms.

Hi TS
Have you heard about Industrial genre of a interior design. You can save the money of installing plaster ceiling by following "Industrial" style. http://renotalk-live.s3.amazonaws.com/foru...5_448_26128.jpg or try google "industrial living room ceiling designs" Fengshui-wise, please bear in mind that one doesn't recommend to sit or sleep under the beams, one can get health problem or frequent headaches. |

But I suggest you go feel it elsewhere to see whether you are comfortable with 9 ft ceiling or not, look for those area with ceiling fan. (Maybe you can go scout your friend's house |

9 feet caused claustrophobic ? is this a joke?
TS, generally 9" is acceptable but u dont have to cover flat the whole ceiling u still can use recess, twice, or use L-box so many ways to beautify it |
