Construction of E32 West Coast Expressway is ongoing and progressing quite well at the moment!

The expressway starts at Changkat Jering (Taiping) (connected to E1 NSE) all the way to Banting. The tolled section is currently being constructed by WCE while two toll-free sections will be using the existing Federal Route 5 which will be upgraded to expressway by JKR. The toll-free sections are Tanjong Karang to Hutan Melintang (Sungai Bernam bridge) and from Teluk Intan to Kampung Lekir.

Perak alignment:
The east-west alignment from Parit to Changkat Keruing is currently deferred.

Hope it will serve as an alternative road..
PLUS is too congested during festive season.

Many of us have concerns on the two toll-free stretches which will be using the existing FT5 which will be upgraded. The existing road itself is already congested and the local traffic will mix with expressway traffic at these 2 stretches.

That's a big no-no.. It should be upgraded wider or has it own dedicated lane..
Otherwise, it will somehow cause a bottleneck.

It's more like North-South Expressway but like I mentioned above, the two toll-free stretches might end up like LDP.

NS highway in north should be upgraded to 3 lanes each at least to sg petani. Imagine after taiping where 2 highways connect to one 2 lanes highway during long holiday.............

I live near section 5. Progressing nicely, the earthworks are completed for kapar-setia alam, only left the bridges and then roadworks. Setia alam-sg rasau is also progressing well, earthwork to flatten the stone hills behind the steel mill has been completed and now piling of red earth to form the road base.

However there are no action at all for section 6 that connects to sevtion 5, not sure what happen.

However surprise2 i went into jeram today and noticed that one location has the hillside cut up and some form of road surface can be seen although it is hardly even 500m. Cant see the alignment yet it is just the hillside cutting work and slope stabilisation which is in the middle of section 6.

Sorry i didnt took any photos.

This are just the list of stretches, some of these stretches may or may not have interchanges in between them.

Check this for more info West Coast Expressway or check the original post in this thread for the map.

SITIAWAN, Sept 23 — Sections 9 and 10 of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) from Kampung Lekir, Sitiawan to Beruas in Perak will be opened to road users starting tonight.

Secretary-general of the Works Ministry, Datuk Dr Syed Omar Sharifuddin Syed Ikhsan said opening of the 45-kilometre stretch, built at a cost of RM917 million could save travelling time by 30 minutes to Beruas town.

“It is a shortcut route for residents around Teluk Intan, Kampung Lekir in Sitiawan, Beruas and Seri Iskandar,” he said in his speech at the opening of Section 9 and 10 of the WCE at the Kampung Lekir toll plaza, here, today.

Also present were Malaysian Highway Authority director-general, Datuk Aziz Abdullah and West Coast Expressway Holdings Berhad chairman, Datuk Ir. Hamzah Hassan.

Syed Omar said there were five intersections, namely Kampung Lekir, Sitiawan, Sitiawan North, Changkat Chermin and Beruas along the stretch.

He said users would not be paying toll until the government decided on the policy and toll rates for the expressway.

The opening of the Kampung Lekir-Beruas stretch of the WCE is the second after the opening of Section 8 from the Hutan Melintang intersection to the Teluk Intan intersection on May 31.

Syed Omar said more than 600,000 vehicles had used the Section 8 stretch as a shortcut for residents around Sabak Bernam in Selangor and Bagan Datuk, Hutan Melintang, Teluk Intan and Sitiawan in Perak.

“This stretch shortens the travelling time by about 11 minutes compared to using the federal road FT005, besides having facilities like a surau and toilets next to the Hutan Melintang and Teluk Intan toll plazas.

“The FT005 road from Teluk Intan to Kampung Lekir and from Tanjung Karang in Selangor to Hutan Melintang in Perak is also being upgraded for travel comfort when the project is completed,” he added.

Perak River is federal road all the way untill Kg. Lekir.
From Kg. Lekir all the way using new Highway to exit at Beruas toll.
Still a free Highway to use since I went on end October 2019.

Bcoz if you want to head to Klang or BBR/Setia Alam, you just need to turn off at jalan Meru after 60 sen toll. it doesnt make sense to purposely go into WCE and then come out again joining Jalan Meru.

Do you know 2 lane only from jalan meru nearby 60 sen tol to bandar bukit raja ?

Do you know there are very heavy jam in jalan meru ? either rush or no rush hour.

Do you know bandar bukit raja hv a shortcut to Taman Klang Utama and Taman Aman Perdana ?

I can drop off at setia alam though bandar bukit raja back to Taman Klang Utama and Taman Aman Perdana if hv exit there.

I just want to make sure hv exit nearby there, if not I go NKVE setia alam link eco Arden to setia alam n bandar bukit raja.

U know la, heavy rain lagi teruk, jam 3 hours back to home.

need to find out alternative route balik rumah shj.

WCE juz feedback to my question, no exit from NNKSB to bandar bukit raja, only Kapar exit.

I dun think i go Kapar tol make a U turn, too far away.

uh... macam tak ngam WCE.

from NS/Melaka u better continue PLUS->ELITE->NKVE->Setia alam. Takkan la nak keluar from ELITE go Banting to take WCE? or take a long way round ELITE->SKVE->WCE? lagi jauh lagi makan masa beb.

From Tapah, currently ppl go PLUS->GUTHRIE->NKVE->Setia Alam or PLUS->GUTHRIE->LATAR exit Puncak Alam->Meru. If you wan to take WCE, u have to travel all the way to where LATAR ends (ijok) and enter WCE from there. Lagi jauh woi.

WCE is only good if you're travelling back to Klang from west coast towns or Taiping northward. an alternative to PLUS it is intended. if you are from Ipoh or any other twons along PLUS, really not worth the hassle. Meanwhile from South, no benefit.

Klang utara>WCE>teluk intan>tapah>kampar

Klang utara>WCE>taiping>penang

NS/melaka>nilai(latar)>Plus>elite>NKVE>Klang utara

my job near the beach side of N.S/melaka, can go banting back to klang. (klebang, morib, port dickson)

all you said is my current route cool2.gif

I can go other route if plus or elite in heavy jam like accident or heavy rain.

i get 4 or 5 hours jam from melaka>plus>elite>nkve>klang. sudah takut !

Wce benefits people from western selangor area. It will reduce the usage of plus, and give benefits to the rest.
