Anyone ordered from Lazada have their router shipped?
Anyway, Sri Computer selling price is even cheaper than the RRP in mainland China. |

QUOTE(BigSaver @ Jul 17 2016, 10:33 AM) Has anyone faced this problem: Wireless instability is a famous issue on this router as a lot of users reported it Chinese forum.1) one/to out of few devices unable to connect to the router(my lenovo Z510 and note 3 neo sometime unable to connect even after install new driver) 2) keep connect and disconnecting ( happen at my z510 and ipad) Btw im on stock firmware. In this case my ancient DIR615 perform better than this WS880 except wireless range. You can try the latest firmware which may fix the issue. |

QUOTE(ycs @ Jul 18 2016, 03:00 PM) no, i'm on asuswrt It may be some minor bug in the ported firmware. Try messing around with the custom DNS settings.it worked well after flashing to asuswrt, few days later now this, i'm guessing its dns issue but not sure i use back by asus router and no issues at all, at desktop and router, unifi ip QUOTE(OKLY @ Jul 18 2016, 03:02 PM) Apparently, it is no longer updated for quite a while. Tomato is still being updated by the author. |

QUOTE(jio @ Jul 18 2016, 04:25 PM) Actually Asus already announced they will change their firmware format to lockdown and comply with the FCC rules. They finally introduced it recently and AsusWRT-Merlin based on that version is still in beta, so I wouldn't be surprised if Xwrt-Vortex will wait until stable version come out. Another thing is there is no publicly available source code for XWRT-Vortex modifications, so we can't compile it ourself. I will not be surprised if we can no longer use the latest Asus firmware on the WS880 with their added security measures. I do not think Asus is happy with their firmware working with other manufacturers' hardware as Asuswrt is one of their main selling point.Tomato-ARM main issue is they backported the kernel & drivers from AsusWRT. A lot of things just broken and unrealiable as it were incompatible with their existing code base. Yes, they fixed most of it but some stability issue still persist & I won't recommend people using it unless they want to use it purely as access point or just don't care. Updated more frequently so what? Most of the updates were on the 3rd party packages & minor fixes. I prefer Toastman build over Shibby's on Broadcom MIPS platform as Shibby's tend to favour more features unlike Toastman's more conservative build. I'm not a fan of AsusWRT-Merlin firmwares, but they are the more reliable option for Broadcom ARM based Asus routers & they can do most of the things I wanted from a home wireless router. I believe Huawei did not publish the source for the WS880 and all the drivers are ported from other devices. Even the wireless stability on the stock firmware is not that great so I will not expect too much from it. It is still a great router at RM200 and it certainly outperforms some much more expensive routers. |

QUOTE(TXSim @ Jul 31 2016, 09:35 PM) Ya. It seems TP-Link is reliable for Wireless Router Model. I will not favor a particular brand but at least D-Link have a working QoS when the router is running on VLAN mode and actually working Native IPV6. Try those on a TP-LINK router. TP-Link ADSL type not good. D-Link is quite OK but worse than TP-Link. Use ASUS if need more better performance. Not suitable for people with budget. |

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Aug 27 2016, 11:59 PM) Never successful to perform firmware upgrade from 380.58 to latest release. Using LAN, tried with IE and FF on Win10, failed. Tried using safari on Mac also failed. Any idea? System logs did not say anything. Maybe you can try flashing it from the bootloader. WARN: I have not tried this.Tried with WS880_380.61_1.zip and WS880_380.61_0.zip Verified sha256 is correct. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 2 2016, 10:39 PM) Crap, guess what? I just came back home and mine is not working too. Get something with 2A. This router pull more than 1A. You don't want to overload the power adapter. Can claim warranty? Just a month plus only... I am using stock TM UniFi Huawei router's adapter, is it OK? It's working though... Will it be not enough power or explode? QUOTE(OKLY @ Sep 3 2016, 01:08 PM) Seems like the adaptors fail after some time, is 3A too much for this router causing excessive heat? Perhaps 2A will be the sweet spot? Ampere is self regulated, it will not "pull" the full 3A unless it is required. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 3 2016, 09:35 PM) I really don't know where can I find adapter... You can ignore it but not recommended. What's the worst can happen if I continue using 1A? So far it is working well and still getting maximum speed... Which shop but really don't want to spend additional. I think just need to replace a new adapter and I hope Huawei will honour. I'm also wondering. I will get my friend to help me to claim since he is having the receipt... Edit: Found some on Lazada. Are they compatible? How to know if it is compatible...? Only one standard type right? I have some weird issues on a 1A adapter. You can get it from those accessories shop in Lowyat. TP-LINK SC sell it as well. RM20 each IINM. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 16 2016, 01:33 AM) I noticed this line in the system log: miniupnpd actually have nothing to do with browsing. Try a factory reset and reconfigure your router again. I am sitting at 15 days of uptime without an issue. Sep 16 01:09:29 miniupnpd[736]: HTTP Connection from 192.168.1.234 closed unexpectedly This is where my connection was connected but no connectivity, so I had to manually disconnect and reconnect again. Any idea what is this? I tried Googling and it is something with Port Forwarding? It is something which I'm not familiar with. Also I noticed there is DCHP Lease for 24H, is it something I should be aware about? 24hour DHCP lease is usual. |
