so any review so far? stable?
*
Seems stable for everyday use for me. Rarely play online games this month to check on disconnectivity but for normal use never encounter disconnect.

Range 5Ghz and 2Ghz are much better than Tp-link C2/Mi Mini/Mi Router 3. AsusWRT looks real solid, no problem/slow down when downloading torrent at 10mbps. Transferring files from/to External Drive achieve ~20MB/sec. Not sure if the limitation is my ancient USB drive or the router. Hopefully someone can test against a better drive.

Flashing custom firmware is quite finicky. Some got it easy, some still now having problem, but most are successful.

Noob question. Why do u guys flash the router? Does it increase the stability or it just an addition of features to current stock firmware?

P/s : yesterday, i bought 2 already. One for me, one for my parents. Awesome price

Yes, I'm using download master to download torrent.

Anyone has any success accessing CFE page after flash? I can't access it anymore. Plus, I can't flash tomato or downgrade to proper version of WS880.

Does asus USB apps like download master needs the hdd to be in ext4 format or is ntfs just fine?

I see, looks like ntfs won't be a problem since fat32 can be used

The ASUS Router app is working guys, it detects the WS880 as ASUS RT-AC68U
Now can monitor your router through phone thumbup.gif

I've tested transferring a 6GB file to a 1TB USB 3.0 HDD, it hovers between 15MB/s ~ 25MB/s

On AsusWRT offcourse

Should not be.

Mine is 1GBps full duplex.

Maybe the problem could be an old Cat5 LAN cable used. It should be Cat5E or Cat6.

wtf?

I run LAN cable from router to 2 PC.... its NOT an option to change the cable as its like very long and goes via the roof etc...

U mean I cannot use my current cable for the Router <--> PC ?
