The game that might used 4 cores is Alan Wake, which is yet to be released.

@BeastX, how much does Kentsfield cost you in RM?

Yesterday I went up to Brunei and went to a couple of computer shops there. And one of them sells a few sticks of KVR 1GB DDR2 with Micron D9GKX. Too bad the price isn't sweet at all. B$199 per stick = RM458. dry.gif

If all 4 sticks have same chipsets and doing stable at your desire speed, let say you test 2 stivks by 2 sticks and both setups are stable at 800mhz 4-4-4-12 for example, then should be no problem if with 4 sticks with same settings. smile.gif

If Intel mobo can't overclock, how you get your E6300 to run @ 3Ghz anyway?

@vey99

Get Gigabyte P965 DS3, with F7 bios, u can have 2.5v max, so more headroom to overclock your RAM. smile.gif

one thg wana ask..im using F7 bios now n oc speed at 400x7...do i need to reset evrythg to default b4 flashing to F8?  blush.gif

Its wiser to load default settings before you flash your BIOS. I'm not sure about Intel board, last time I flashed my DFI NF2 Infinity BIOS with overclocked settings, ended up cold boot. Have to hot flash it back. I guess you don't want that to happen.

Most said F8 is really good as you can apply lesser vcore for the same speed compared to F7. Nice thing.

Higher chance of getting higher stable FSB? Well, not always true, C1 can performs as good.

Yes, that's the only way to determine the chipset used. But by doing so, you will void the warranty as well. So think twice.

Refer to the link below and see if you model is in the list or not. smile.gif

Try set 400 x 8, vcore 1.4v in BIOS
RAM 400FSB 1:1 divider, 4-4-4-12-auto-auto vdimm 2.0v
MCH voltage + 0.2v

Anything else I miss? Never use Gigabyte DS3 before though.

You will have to press DEL to in order to enter the BIOS first. What I mean is after you enter the BIOS screen, press CTRL + F1 to enable MIT features.

I wonder if anyone else here use P5N-E SLI. My board able to get it boot with 450FSB. When I set my FSB >450, system won't boot. Increasing NB voltage won't help either. sad.gif

Previous my ram able to run with 480FSB using ASUS P5B-E Plus though.

Should say the stability of your system will be affected by the temperature. That's why you see those extreme overclockers will use LN2 to cool down their proc.
