Wanna ask pros here.. if wanna hit 3.6GHz or above really need 3rd party HSF ??
Will it help a lot??  icon_question.gif

looking at p00kit's oc results, i was inspired to find out the upper limit of my e6300. But sadly, i kinda hit the wall somewhere before 470 fsb sad.gif

At 470fsb, i could load windows @ stock vcore, and even run the superPI 1m but it would only last for like 5 seconds in orthos! argghhh.. i've even tried to pump the vcore to 1.4v but still no go.. using ds3 with kvr 667 1 gb (single).
i've tried running the ram at 480 mhz using divider 4:5 (or 5:4) and it works well, which should mean that the ram should work at 470 fsb or is it?

Could it be my psu holding me back? Im using Acbel 450w. The 12v rails looks okay to me.. cry.gif

using the thermaltake bigtyp vx only. But the temp is not so bad.. i usually go for this crazy runs when my room is pretty cool (air cond at full blast). Even at 460 FSB, my load is still below 55c.

i guess your right, probably its the proc. I've always thought this baby had potential.. (i could run 430x7 @ 1.25v) cry.gif

Im pretty sure its fine. THe retention mechanism is not the same as the vx but it would fit into ure 775 socket.

I actually tried running the ram @ ddr940 using a divider. ie having my fsb @ 376 and using a 4:5 divider (2.5 in the ds3 bios setting) to get an effective speed of ddr 940 for my rams). At these settings, i could pass orthos blend and large. Or is running ddr940 on 1:1 different than running 4:5?

Guys,

Im going to attempt to shift to the Intel side. Hope you guys can give me some pointers.
First, my plan is to get a E6300 and OC to 2.6++Ghz. mainboard GA-965P-DS4 (rev. 2.0). I dont wanna OC that high but wanna seek good tempetature and adaquate speed.

Looking for budgets things here. What type of memory speed and types should I buy.
Is CM iGreen line 560W is adaquate to run my system with 7900GTO/8800GTS?
For a start do I need to get a CPU Cooler?

personaly, i would not get the CM iGreen PSU. i would rather get somethng from Siverstone to powerup my rig.
well, 2.6 is only a 800mhz oc. the stock HSF with a fresh coat of AS5 and u shud be ready to go.

yeah
a lot more.

it depends what ure running bro.
liberty is awesome but look at the amp railings on the 12v

example my zalman has 4 12vols, each at 16v but the last two 12v more for the pcie cards... so have loads of power for a graphic card.

zeus cooling is way better.
con part is zeus is not modular. but it supports the latest eps mobo
liberty doesnt.

www.modernopc.com

call him later larr..

me support moderno thumbup.gif
y?? cause eventhough the price about the same as anywhere else. but
easy leh just call supplier/distributor if u want to check stock.
then call moderno and he will get it. if not ask him to call.
second his place is in subang...easy... hate ly cause a lot of ppl windows shopping
and loads of ppl talking crap that this is good but has no clue about what they are talking about
