my DS3 died right after i update my bios to F8, damn...
blaxez.. you didnt update your bios at OC setting rite??... always update bios at default setting otherwise the board might die after bios flash.. just learnt my lesson from my previous mistake...
*
Your bios went corrupted also? I didn't reset it to the default settings before updating the bios, it went through without problem for 8 times, this is the 1st and the most unlucky update for me ever.

Yes, its advisable to load the default settings in BIOS first before flashing to another BIOS version.

Most said F8 is really good as you can apply lesser vcore for the same speed compared to F7. Nice thing.

yep im using F9 right now.

but i do regular OC only.

Speed: 2.6GHz (372x7) 1.32v - STOCK cooler
FSB: 1488MHz
Mem: Corsair XMS2 2x512 DDR2 667@744MHz 5-4-4-12 @ 1:1 Divider 2.1v

Temps:

CPU :
Idle = 45C
Load = 56C

Core #0 = idle 52C, Load 63C
Core #1 = idle 52C, Load 63C

temps recorded from Everest Ultimate 2006 v3.5 and TAT

my question:

are the temps normal with the oc setting? and can i push few hundreds more MHz?

my 1st intel machine. just got it yesterday. biggrin.gif

hope C2D pros can guide me through ultimate OC of my pc with the spec.

Temperature is certainly normal for stock cooler, nothing worrying. If u wanna OC a little bit further i highly suggest getting a 3rd party cooler wish.gif

Yea.. normally most E6300 capable to hit 400fsb with stock or lower vCore.
I think 400fsb is a sweet spot if u dont wanna stress yuor proc too much.

Hey guys.. do you guys think E6400 is more overclockable if compare with E6600??
Although E6400 have lower multiplier but it have potential to get higher fsb.
The so call 'Allendale still have more o'c headspace.

tried to ramp up to 2.8GHz but no luck. sad.gif

only can hold less than 1 freaking minute on dual prime95 cry.gif

tried to loose the ram timing to 5-5-5-15 also didnt work out. But i dont want to add more voltage on the cpu.

2.6 is my sweet spot wink.gif

2.6Ghz is a good o'c. Keep on.
BTW wht PSU u using?? Get PSU with atleast 18A for 12V rails for o'c. Then system will run more stable.

Anyone here using the new nforce 600 series chipset motherboards? I might be getting one soon as I can't bear with the slowness of RMA process. I'm still doubting the OC capability of those boards.
