s[H]sIkuA, how far can you clock your E6600 ES? Can do 3.5Ghz or not?

Got a E6300 L633F039 today.
457 x 7(3.2Ghz), 1.296vcore, DDR2 914Mhz 4-4-4-12 2.0vdimm http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/hyd...s/e6300-3-1.png This post has been edited by Hyde`fK: Mar 28 2007, 05:21 AM |

You mean E6300 till 3.8Ghz or other proc?
Anyway, you may want to find what's the highest FSB your E6300 can reach first. Most proc has a FSB wall, like my previous E6300 can reach max 480, while I get another one, 500FSB easy. |

Err.. I think burn in for processor doesn't do much help, like RAM does. But you can try.

QUOTE(DaRkSyThE @ Apr 3 2007, 10:05 PM) the thing is apparently asus purposely put the vdroop there according to some sources. kinda weird dont u think? Err.. that's something new to me. If so, I don't see a point there. That will only make enthusiast not buying their product. But dang, not like we have much choices for now. QUOTE(irangan @ Apr 3 2007, 10:51 PM) may i know why is that? asus mobo bios have a good oc setting but those stupid vdroop holding alot of the potential back Yea, stable but yet, annoying vdroop. QUOTE(s[H]sIkuA @ Apr 3 2007, 11:04 PM) safety reason? but I doubt ppl buying those board AND don't overclock so its kinda pointless But you manage to get good vdroop reduce, mine only until 0.04v nia. |

Yup. Its when you change some settings inside BIOS, upon restarting, the system will shutdown for awhile and boot up again. Booting up after clearing CMOS also will result in dual boot. Not a big deal, and nothing wrong, its normal.

Nforce chipset has better memory bandwidth compared to Intel. Timing? That's depend on your RAM.

QUOTE(arc_archive @ Apr 11 2007, 06:11 PM) Im afraid there will be mem compatability prob when pairing it wif Corsair mem coz my expected to buy DMM kit timed at 5.5.5.15. Using P5N-E SLI now, erm well, RMA-ed, will come back soon. I can say Nforce is good. Time needed to load Windows is also faster compared to INtel's. So far, I never heard any RAM issues with nForce6 just yet, so I doubt there's any problem with your RAM.Hope any one with previous xperience wif 650i board can share a lil bit bout the issue they encounter wif the mobo. QUOTE(DaRkSyThE @ Apr 11 2007, 07:24 PM) well in actual fact. the Nforce chip is capable of much better timings and such for the rams because there are way more options for u to play around with. Yea, I like the Unlinked features where you can play with any value you want to. I seen from a review sometime ago that although can set any values, which will results in different multipliers, and some strange multipliers will result instability.some people have better results with their D9GMH compared to intel users. |

QUOTE(arc_archive @ Apr 11 2007, 11:05 PM) Two pins inside the socket got torn off, making the system unstable. QUOTE(cablesguy @ Apr 12 2007, 01:17 AM) nforce6 also can set 1T command rate right, whereas intel 2T....anyway didnt know that the board also boots faster I haven't try 1T command rate just yet. Don't know my RAM capable of doing it with high frequency or not. Its not the board, its the nForce6 chipset which is faster in memory bandwidth. |

ES is just testing experimental hardware, its not the final product. So do expect some issues like some temp software cannot work with it.

I runs DDR2 1000 daily on my P5N-E SLI, with 60mm high cfm fan blowing that NB heatsink though.

Noise isn't a matter to me, its not that noisy actually. As for the NB, I run it 24/7.

QUOTE(DaRkSyThE @ Apr 13 2007, 10:59 PM) in any case, i read that it might affect ur oc performance in the future, unstable performance, and a shortened lifespan of the board. I see. I just used the board for 1 month then send RMA. So can't give any comment yet. When I touch the NB heatsink, its hot, around 60C I guess. Will replace it with a 3rd party cooler. |

Wah, yehlai, your ES is good lar. My previous ES can even hardly reach 3.5Ghz. BTW, for that RAM settings, 2.0vdimm is actually more than enough.

New batch C2D doesn't overclock that well anymore, but who knows you can get a good one. Most E6300 can hardly reach 500 x 7. If you don't want to run DDR2 1000, can use divider. About the temp, its not about the speed the processor is running at, its the value of vcore you applied to it. High vcore will produce more heat.
