Any pro can enlighten me pls.

based on my 5x E6600s vs 3x E6400s vs 1x E6300, i'm very sure the 2mb L2 chip needs extra 200mhz to get same score as its 4mb brother in super PI..
so in other words, based on my experience, if my E6600 is at 3.4ghz, i need to set my E6400 or E6300 to 3.6ghz to get same result in Super PI.
In ur case, the E6400 is at 400mhz higher than the E6600, but still slower 0.765 secs in super PI.
So my GUESS is the diferrence comes from other things, such as background application, mem usage, and / or tweaked windows..
neway just wanna share with u guys my quick test with this XBX2.
E6600 @ 3.7ghz 1.375vcore, 1.6vmch, 1.3vfsb
Intel XBX2 bios 2333 1066 strap
Mushkin DDR2 800 @ 5-5-5-15 @ 1.84vdimm
8800GTX
Thermaltake Toughpower 700w
E6600 @ 3.8ghz 1.45vcore, 1.625vmch, 1.35vfsb
Intel XBX2 bios 2333 1066 strap
Mushkin DDR2 800 @ 5-5-5-15 @ 1.84vdimm
8800GTX
Thermaltake Toughpower 700w
Okei, since i had used lots of boards, i would like to give my comments on them. since this is from my personal experience, my opinion might not same with u bcoz of hardware differences and environment.
965: gigabyte ds4, dq6, ds3, asus p5b dlx wifi edition, biostar 965 dlx
975: asus p5w dh dlx wifi, intel xbx2
for 965, my first board ds4 was ok.. but lack of bios support made me jumped to gigabyte flagship board, dq6.
dq6 was not bad, until i read that asus p5b dlx is the best conroe board at that time.
but the asus gave me lots of trouble. it reported my memory as error while the ram itself was proven ok when i tested it with other board.. i couldnt reach as high oc as i got with dq6.
with ds3, i can get same max oc as dq6, but the ds3 produced a disturbing noise.
the biostar is the best conroe i had at that time. no memory issues, no noise, highest oc result i achieved.
for 975, asus p5w dh is better than the biostar. it is faster @ same clockspeed, more stable, and the bios is easy to configure. but in terms of oc, i just managed to hit the same speed as i got with the biostar.
the xbx2 : has less features than the p5w dh dlx.. as i bought this board just after 2 hours review @ xs, somehow i felt like i made a wrong decision.. but few days later i found out this is the best board i ever used with intel processor..
1) 100mhz extra clockspeed than what i got with my p5w dh dlx. (3.8 vs 3.7)
2) need significantly lower voltages than p5w dh dlx ( 3.7 @ 1.375vcore, 1.6vmch, 1.3vfsb VS 3.7 @ 1.45vcore, 1.65vmch, 1.4 vfsb)
3) bios recovery if bios flashing fail
4) and most importantly, no more cold boot, or power on off like other c2d boards.
however this xbx2 still got few disadvantages
1) less attractive stuffs like wifi, bundles, to justify its price
2) bad jumper position
3) no screw hole for chipset heatsink. so 3rd party hsf that can be used is limited..
4) got problem with software like everest and IDCC.
