QUOTE(extremeocer @ Jul 6 2007, 02:07 PM) Genting would be a nice place...but think the temps there around 18-20C not good enuf but adaquate for cascade cooling as it helps prevent condensation. Yea, but great for air cooling.QUOTE(intothefantasy @ Jul 6 2007, 02:28 PM) just a fast question for the pros...sifus...i wanna ask is that is it fsb value oc liao higher then the corespeed means is better? If tested with SuperPI, 4.7Ghz will be faster, because of higher processor speed. If both at same speed but with different configuration in between FSB and multiplier, eg. 400x8 and 457x7, the latter one will be faster.let say like 500x9 = 45 and 470x10 = 47 with 47 higher then 45 for the corespeed but fsb 500 higher then 470...is this mean fsb is more important than the corespeed? which is faster? or we must test with programs? |

That's very low. Seems like new batches are quite good.

Try set your VTT to 1.35v if that helps.

You may have notice, even using a quad, there's not much different compare with a dual core since most current software won't fully ulitize 4 cores atm. remysix's result is around the same with Joseph Hahn.

Your RAM timing is too loose, you can actually manage to get a 3-3-3-8 easily with enough vdimm.

975 is good pairing with a higher multiplier processor, due to most 975 can reach high fsb like most 965 does.

Opps, I write it wrongly. I mean 975 can't reach high fsb like 965 does. My bad.

irenic, try install your Gemini see how cold it can be. Also 4Ghz @ 1.5v is MADNESS.

I wonder if the temp reading is correct or not. Run Speedfan to double confirm or Gigabyte probe software.

Intel couldnt care less if you overclock with 1.35v or more, they have no ways to check how much vcore you have pumped if to send back for RMA.
@irenic I see that you sold your Gemini, then can't test anymore, getting what next? |

Gawd, that really is cold even with 1.2v on stock cooler @ 2Ghz. ._. Guess with WC, maybe can easily reach 4.5Ghz.
What WC setup? Apex Ultra? This post has been edited by Hyde`fK: Jul 15 2007, 12:30 PM |
