Guys, i don't know where to start, but i'll just tell the stories here, hope the admins / staff can help me in answering my question here... notworthy.gif

Okay, few times i faced with this kind of problem, IINM, this is the 3rd time i face this kind of problem in this month. sweat.gif

Okay, normally, when there's a new PM, there's a notice that a new PM up there right?

Here's the problem, today is the 3rd time i face this kind of problem, not to mention other times also... sweat.gif

When i click on the "1 New Message" notice up there, weirdly, the internet hangs, and there will be some kind of "404 Error" and when i close my internet browser, and reopen my internet browser, the message is gone!

I didn't even read it yet, but why does the PM gone like that?

It's like it's automatically deleted or deleted by itself before i even had a chance of reading it... sweat.gif

Right now i'm using Maxthon as my internet browser.

I've used the normal Internet Explorer, Firefox, the problem still persist, and today, it's the third time i face this automatic deletion of pm before i even had a chance of reading it... sweat.gif

Hope the admins understand what i'm trying to say here
**Sorry if my explanation is kinda hard to understand as my english is not very good.. sad.gif

Please, i really hope that it won't happen again, just imagine, if someone from my thermalright bulk order give me a proof of payment in pm, then the PM is gone like ghost, how can i get it back?

I can't view the pm, so i don't know who gave me that pm...

Seriously, this is a bad thing, please, i really hope that this thing won't happen anymore... rclxub.gif

Perhaps if it happens again do take note of the time and have the admins to check the logs.

OK, then take note of the time when it happens again. With around 800k entries in a day's worth of logs, it's not easy for me to help you if you don't help me too.

IMO just leave it open first and if the problem doesn't happen for a long time then this topic can be closed. If the problem happens again, post it here. smile.gif

Yes, please don't close it. We'd like to see if anyone else is experiencing the same problem. Personally, I've not got that yet. I can imagine it's pretty harrowing to lose a PM before reading it.

I've got a question to the mods / admins:

What if i accidentally pressed the delete button in the message itself or accidentally ticked those pm's that i haven't read, and "tertekan" that delete button resulting deletion of those pm that i haven't read yet...

What can i do to get it back? blink.gif

**this doesn't related to my question about why is there automatic deletion of pm, because the automatic deletion of pm's really happen sweat.gif

Good question, we should have a trash folder. Just my suggestion... smile.gif

Of course, we can do it put those deleted PM in the trash, but will be automatically deleted permanently after 1 day. What do you think?

Nothing. We perform daily database backups, but that's strictly for our own disaster recovery. Your best bet is to hit the browser's "back" button, or ask the sender to resend his message.

I think it's too much effort at this point in time. Just be more careful next time and treat the delete button with respect.
