I wouldn't be surprised if there was.

The chasis spawn the Waja, Gen2 and Neo.
However, I think the sedan will remain as the Waja for cost reasons.

Facelifting by changing a few of the front and rear panels to have a more modern look isn't out of the question, in-fact Honda EG and EK models were exactly the same except the EK was more refined and panels were changed to make it look new. EG's were able to convert to EK looks, but front only.

here are two spy shots of the soon to be released gen2 sedan.
it has also been facelifted and the gen2 aeroback will also spot this new look.
quick-eyed viewers would notice the similarities between the facelifted waja and gen2 rear bumpers.
It will be available in 1.3 and 1.6 campro with variable valve timing.
here are the changes and new feaures:

if its done right gen2 sedan would definately revive proton and bring back confidence to buyers (eventhough neo already did the job but the real big market is sedan! gen2 have the look, if quality build is up to savvy and neo standard it would be a bomb ) variable valve timing would be a plus! so is it confirmed gen2 sedan going to have variable valve timing?

and i hope they make more height room for rear passenger

OT : i would really love to see a neo coupe (putra replacement model maybe?) with higher cc campro with variable valve timing biggrin.gif it would be celica killer

I doubt they'll redo the roof coz;
1. extra design work
2. might look ugly
3. drag co-efficiency will be different
4. extra spare parts to keep in service center

Might as well just have a Gen.2 sedan, if it is good then kill the Waja. Coz dowan these two models fight among themselves.

Engine technology wise I don't think Proton will come up with anything new, there are people who said Lotus can help but Lotus streangths is in chasis design not engines, thats why Lotus never ever has its own engine for any of its cars.

It would be less troublesome for Proton to keep the same Campro engine now in Waja, Neo and Gen.2 so spares can be unified thus lowering cost.

Celica killer? Have to see in terms of performance or what. Performance wise that car isn't much but it does have the looks.

Lotus is pretty good with engines what?
The Exige 240S, 240hp from only 1.8. But supercharged la.  laugh.gif  But the rumoured supercharged Waja can happen with the help of Lotus.

highly doubt a supercharged production model from proton!

Yeah, they are good at modifying an engine.

they see campro engine they... doh.gif

modifying a supercar and passanger car engine is two very different things.
passanger cars are biased towards reliability while supercars are towards performance. plus they tuned the engine they didn't go add CPS+VIm technology onto it, 2ZZ-GE should be VVT-i
