That was an old prototype surfaced in 2004 once, and it was rumoured to be the sedan version of gen2. I hope this still not, take a look at the front and its fugly!

it is not built on 2004 , that is the actual mule made out for tengku mahaleel to choose , in the end , tengku mahaleel has chosen the WRM as Gen2 . and this 1:1 model is left out .
if not mistaken , this picture was taken during the open day of proton factory . |

I wouldn't be surprised if there was.
The chasis spawn the Waja, Gen2 and Neo. However, I think the sedan will remain as the Waja for cost reasons. Facelifting by changing a few of the front and rear panels to have a more modern look isn't out of the question, in-fact Honda EG and EK models were exactly the same except the EK was more refined and panels were changed to make it look new. EG's were able to convert to EK looks, but front only. |

Got the pics from an email for a quite long time ago. And yes, the chasis for waja, gen2, neo is almost the same. Maybe we will see some gen2 with neo front part mod very soon. Or there's one already?

![]() ![]() here are two spy shots of the soon to be released gen2 sedan. it has also been facelifted and the gen2 aeroback will also spot this new look. quick-eyed viewers would notice the similarities between the facelifted waja and gen2 rear bumpers. It will be available in 1.3 and 1.6 campro with variable valve timing. here are the changes and new feaures: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « http://www.motortrader.com.my/asp/forum/to...?TOPIC_ID=13807 |

WOW, the rear looks great!
Need to take a 3/4 view of the front to get a good idea. That shot is horrible. And did you say.......variable valve timing!! You're joking aren't you? Wah, Campro with 122hp, and 167Nm at only 3500rpm. If this is confirmed real then I'd do this. This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Jan 26 2007, 10:56 AM |

If got then The engine should be more efficient than the current ones.. The front is not bad (from that angle) The rear bumper looks like 5 series...or is my eyes blur already They better do miracles..else they are just gonna die... |

if its done right gen2 sedan would definately revive proton and bring back confidence to buyers (eventhough neo already did the job but the real big market is sedan! gen2 have the look, if quality build is up to savvy and neo standard it would be a bomb ) variable valve timing would be a plus! so is it confirmed gen2 sedan going to have variable valve timing?
and i hope they make more height room for rear passenger OT : i would really love to see a neo coupe (putra replacement model maybe?) with higher cc campro with variable valve timing |

I doubt they'll redo the roof coz;and i hope they make more height room for rear passenger OT : i would really love to see a neo coupe (putra replacement model maybe?) with higher cc campro with variable valve timing 1. extra design work 2. might look ugly 3. drag co-efficiency will be different 4. extra spare parts to keep in service center Might as well just have a Gen.2 sedan, if it is good then kill the Waja. Coz dowan these two models fight among themselves. Engine technology wise I don't think Proton will come up with anything new, there are people who said Lotus can help but Lotus streangths is in chasis design not engines, thats why Lotus never ever has its own engine for any of its cars. It would be less troublesome for Proton to keep the same Campro engine now in Waja, Neo and Gen.2 so spares can be unified thus lowering cost. Celica killer? Have to see in terms of performance or what. Performance wise that car isn't much but it does have the looks. |

If they plan to release it in June some spyshot picture should be available soon. It's hard to get new Proton model spyshot nowadays. I remembered before the NEO,and savvy was released there are alot of website with NEO or Savvy spyshot picture.
I really hope Proton can win back the market with this model. NEO is a good model but Malaysians prefer a sedan so making a sedan is the right decision. |
