I'm going to apply for the Platinum Card. However, I'm wondering:

Now I'm holding a credit card (and only 1 card I own now) of another bank with a credit limit of 5 times of my monthly salary (excluding installment limit). Will this condition affect my card application to Ambank i.e. very likely to be rejected?

Is there anyone here who can share his similar experience?

Finally got my new platinum card! rclxm9.gif

Applied the card via email on 2 March 2017; got approved on 8 March 2017; collected the card at branch on 14 March 2017.

However, I don't received the hard copy booklet containing the B1F1 vouchers. Called to customer service and the agent said will help me to get the VIP code for the B1F1 app instead.

The word "platinum" above the mastercard logo is very hard to see (shown in attached picture below; circled in orange color). If you don't purposely look for the word, it's hard to believe it's a platinum card. biggrin.gif In other words, not able to show off. laugh.gif

This card is quite shinny though.

BTW, I notice that this thread is not as hot as other thread e.g. Maybank, Citibank, UOB etc. Is it because Ambank cards are difficult to get, or less people use Ambank cards?

Where to check the application status?
I saw a thread before, but forgot where is it.

Just call customer service, you have to press a number in the automated voice system to check your application status.

Did CS mention to you whether or not supp card is entitled for B1F1 VIP code ??
Since I didn't apply for a supp card, I didn't ask the CS regarding the entitlement to supp card holder.

I just called CS and they offered me a VIP code for the B1F1 app. They didn't send the code to me via SMS but just told me the code over the phone.

I don't get the hard copy of the B1F1 booklet, perhaps I already got the B1F1 app so they don't wanna give a copy to me. Oh well.

Nowadays Ambank customer service is efficient. Maybe it's an isolated case but I did enjoy good service from them.

I could just activate my new credit card via phone and the CS agent would apply for the 6-digit pin for me. I'll get the pin via SMS in 3 days for me to change it to my own pin via ATM.

Hopefully they will keep offering good customer service to clients, constantly.

For your application its consider really fast , 2nd march apply 8th March got approved . I applied on January , took up to 2 weeks to get approval . And my dad applied platinum card too from 22 feb , until now stil in progress  blink.gif

So for me , it depends on the manager whether they doing their work fast or not .

The word platinum in Visa card is more visible compare to Mastercard

Actually the branch received my card on 10 March but they didn't call me to collect, and I had to check with CS. If not, I could get my card earlier.

I wanted to get the visa card initially (just because of the big "platinum" word displayed at the top left corner of the card), but the visa logo looks ugly because the blue "visa" word is on top of white rectangular box. I understand the bank printed the visa logo this way due to the black colored background of the card but it just looks plain ugly.

The design of the word "platinum" shows in their website is no longer exist . New visa card the platinum word is like this rclxms.gif

laugh.gif Why the bank hides the "platinum" word under the Visa logo? I prefer the old design where the "platinum" word is displayed big-big at the top area.

I wonder if I could call the bank to change to visa card from mastercard... hmm.gif

You can add another Visa card. wink.gif

Nah. 1 card is enough because it doesn't sit in my wallet everyday. Same as you, I'll only use it for PPL access and overseas spending.

Apparently add-on has a higher chance if your income is near the higher tier according to the branch assistant manager anyway, plus the chance to appeal. If using other banks standard, my income hits the requirement for WMC, however Ambank calculates annual bonus on 24 months basis, so that pushed me behind the requirements..  sweat.gif
*
They took into account your annual bonus? When I applied for their Platinum card, the CS agent told me that the bank doesn't look at annual bonus because "it isn't considered as fixed income". huh.gif

Yep, they do take to consideration. But as it is not fixed they calculate it under 24 month basis instead of 12 months. That's what the CC officer told me when she called.
*
That means, if monthly income is RM4,000 plus 2-month bonus per year, then gross annual income is (RM4,000 x 12 months) + RM4,000 (1 month bonus) = RM52,000?
