Applying via email works:

RM0.00 Mr XXX, your AmBank credit card app has been approved. The card will be sent to your delivery address within 1 week. TQ

Is that an SMS?
May I ask as to when did you submit your application?

Thank you

Sorry for spoiling your mood but i have to disagree with you. Their WMC offers one of best conversion rates, thrashing MBB VI, HSBC...and it gives you 5x AmBonus points. So every RM1 spent overseas will get you 1 FFP miles.
*
This is actually the main reason why I applied for this card.

1% Mc charge.
0.5-0.8% exchange rate spread.
So about RM 0.018 per mile.
Limit of 100,000 miles per month.

Pretty good deal if got a lot of overseas spending.

Question is:
Is there a list somewhere of what ambank considers online spending (since not included).
Uber/Grab?
Grab credits?
Airbnb?
Airline ( direct Mas or Sq)?

Basically, you need to be overseas to get the 5X points.

Whatever you spend locally won't be eligible.

The only drawback I see from this card.
*
Actually this is a plus point for me.
As pointed out earlier, overseas online transactions don't count.

So wondering what is defined as being online transactions.
Eg. Booking SQ from Singapore to London?
Booking Mas from Singapore to London?

Airbnb bookings?

Grab and Uber when using overseas?

If you are using the card locally, it's not eligible for 5X lor.

You must use the card physically overseas to get 5X
Yeap.
I get the point about overseas use only.
I spend alot more overseas than in M'sia.

Online all don't count to 5X unless you are not in Malaysia.

Actually, overseas online also don't count.
all online transactions don't count.

I am hoping for a list or definition of online vs offline transactions.

eg. direct hotel bookings are normally considered OFFline, even if prepaid.

I am assuming direct airline bookings are considered online transactions?

As long as a one-time-password is given via sms?

Be patience and wait blush.gif I submitted my application more than 2 weeks, just received call from the agent I applied yesterday for missing details, probably they only start to submit my application to their system now nod.gif

Yeah same.
Did my application via email 31 May.
Took a couple of weeks for 2nd call for additional info.
1st call was earlier, to verify if I applied for the card.

Once additional info given, took like a day to approve.
Victor, you should be able to check if approve by end of today.
Unless more info needed

For those of you who have a credit card/cards with AmBank, do you open a saving/ current account with AmBank, and auto deduct from there every month?

Or pay via Internet banking/ transfer every month from another bank?
