Added on April 10, 2007, 12:00 amAnyone can attach the V8round1.rar here? I cant download it...yahoo wont let me.

Zandvoort...not familiar with this track at all...Never been here prior to ASRCW test runs...After that, practice once with sabelt and he clock IINM a 1.33s....im sure he can do better....well... for me thats the time to beat now.

Havent got time to be on track today. But one thing that always stick on my mind about zandvoort is the nasty bump on the turn 1 exit....nasty2 bump...

QUOTE(Redline @ Apr 10 2007, 10:51 AM)
I think the tyre temp indicator color sequence are as follows: (Degree Celcius)

Starting: blue (< 40)

Pink: (> 40 & < 80 or 90)

Red: (> 90 & < 110 Optimum level maybe)

Orange: (> 110)

Yellow: (> 130 this is really bad....lol)

The bar level indicate the tyre wear:

Starting: Full green (6 or 7 full bars)

Yellow: start to wear (4 to 5 bar left)

Red: (< 3 bar.....time to change the tyre)

For the brake wear indicator, i'm not so sure, can't find it in LCD, just watching the temp only.

Correct me if got wrong.
*
Yup...thats rite...and the rectangle representing each tyres are also showing the inside, middle and outer side of the tyres...very useful to check ur camber setting.

The side of the rectangle facing ur car is the inside of ur tyres. The indicated color corresponds with the list Red posted previously.

Thanks PCcrazy for the replay. I already have it. Sorry i thot the one with the newletter is the autosim log of the race...thats y i want it. Thanks again PCcrazy!

Red, thats an absolutely MUST for out league....VERY2 informative and shows our professionalism....would compliment the vcr files perfectly.
As its said, we can analyse the race and find answers to our question. I saw this first when Evo posted it after a GTR2 race...i was interested...but didnt wanna ask more.

Just make sure u guys wont be bogged down too much by this...

O yeah no doubt the rest of the guys are VERY FAST also...like what ive posted before, its just a matter for them to spend time practicing (as wut i did) and know the car and u'll see.

Since we are practicing offline, please be reminded that u need u upload the latest version of the track (posted by Red few post above) and set the rules of fuel usage and tyre wear to 2x....the reason PCcrazy was came second in sepang is because he practiced offline with the wrong rules. Even with that, he gave all of us a run for our sim money...he'll fly in Zandvoort.

maranello, what mr redline posted on the website is the same one as in the email. we (madnor & me) disscuss it over lunch yesterday and we found that the maximum grip is on the 2nd or 3rd lap. by the fourth lap, the grip goes away gradually.
*
True....thats why i divided my quali to two small section...two outing, each is 1 out, hotlap and inlap...so total of 6 laps. To me running 4 hotlaps is not very effective coz by the end of the run ur tyres wont give u enuff grip to post a fast time already. But its a gamble. You only have 2 hotlaps.....1 monitored the traffic before i go out.

About the delayed replay in the game, u can easily move the cursor over the replay window and hit ESC. This will fast foward the delayed telecast to 'LIVE'.

I drove some laps around Zandvoort to get myself familiarise with the track. I use my Sepang quali setup and tweak the gear ratio to lower and lower my front tyre pressure to make the car turn better in the hot lap. I also increase the wing by 1 so far i can clock a mid 1.49....i really cant see how u can clock a 1.45s here... blink.gif Or its too early too tell..

btw, i think sabelt time of 1.33 is of the ASWRC? my mistake but regradless he is fast around there....same with madnor....both looks familiar enuff with the track. nod.gif

I find it hard to achieve good race setup with 2x tyre wear. It's a huge challenge to keep my tyres within the desirable wear rates and at the same time lapping the car to the limit.

It's like playing GT PS2, you only have couple of laps b4 the tyre turn all red.
*
I havent tried racing there yet...but so far im just using my sepang setup coz i can understand and familiar with the car's characteristic with it. Im just trying to learn more about the track..i'll run a race tonite and hoping to learn more about the track in race condition.

Personally i gave the car a hint that im turning in so the car is not overly shocked when i finally turn in. The tyres are slightly hotter when u turn and more grip mid corner so u dont have to scrub more..

CONGRATS PITT! he's gonna be more dangerous with the g25....so our league have 4 g25 runners... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

pccrazy : since tire wear is an important issue in V8, twice stopper can be competetive in the race, unlike our gtr2 league when everybody were stopping only once.
*
Ive considered two stopping in sepang but i needed to build a gap with a mostly one stopper, of at least 50 seconds to be confortably infront when im out of the pit. But PCcrazy managed to keep the gap at 30+ sec.

Anyway i tried to pit to change tyres only, and set my fuel to 0 just before i pit, but then i left the pit with 1 litre of fuel only! A bug? Or how can i pit just changing tyres and without refuelling? The pit timing is the same either way.

I think in Zandvoort u can pitt (opps sorry, i mean pit) twice since tyre wear is an issue. I'll race tonite and share with u guys my experience....

Added on April 12, 2007, 5:01 pmJust received the newletter plus the stats....Extensive i must say....thanks Evo.

When are you going to be in the server? I would like to join you and get some tips as well. Btw, don't tell me your strategy, it will spoil the fun. Just discuss about the car. I want surprises in the race to keep up the drama and realism.

That's why I need you to keep staying behind me at sepang. I knew I will have no chance if you pass by. Even though I did all I could to save my tyres, but still not enough. It's a good challenge anyway.

O sure...of course im not gonna reveal all...its a psycho game remember?
O the server is up?? I thought its only gonna be up during race day?
I'll try to look up fer u later tonite...perhaps around 11 or so.

It was suprised i can keep up with ya honestly....i was thinking all the time what game ure playing....letting me follow you this close. Then i realised that u really have enough time to set up ur car nicely coz of the rules thing. Following ur back has thought me alot about patience.

I'll be slow in Zandvoort...so watch out for other guys instead!

It was a lucky win fer me Rai...And i dont think its gonna be easier from here. We have talented racers here....Never count them out.

I didnt race offline because i practiced on the wrong zaandvoort all this time. Now im on the thropy of the dunes track. Redo my setup and run 30 minutes, thats around 20 laps....so that makes 40 laps in an hour, please correct me if im wrong.

I have a decent setup for race, FL start to wear on lap 8, after that just tahan till lap 20 with best time revolving around mid 1.45s....

Quali should be a second or so quicker than the best race time, so i also manage a low 1.44s.

A tight and tricky track fer me...so i tried to learn the flow and get some milage.

u guys practicing tonite? maybe i'll join - i better put some track time asap, expecting to be busy with other things this weekend.

40laps?  maybe 2 stoppers considering the tyre wear.
*
Yep kimi, see u on track tonite and we can exchange note. Sorry Red last nite i was on something, we couldve exchange notes too...it'll be useful especially with you.

Before i left, Dzariq post a fastest lap of 1.44.4xx... so im buckling up. smile.gif

Ran a test race with AI with 100% strength and aggression. Winner completed 34 laps and im 14 seconds behind after making one error. AI kept a nice degrading performance on the first stint and pit a third into the race.

Mind the pit straight speed limit start line! I kena stop and go coz i thought its the one inside!

Total fuel for me to complete this lap (in garage) is for 46laps of fuel...of course we run 2x fuel. I crossed the finish line with 4litre left.

First of all, i cant see the red starting lights coz of my super big windscreen sticker blocking it...so i started when u guys started, think of it i shouldve just change view but i dont want to kelam kabut.

Ryugan kasi chan lagi...aper la race je la....chet.

I was following Red but couldnt really keep up with him. Hes a pro at this track, like ive mentioned before. He pitted first and when i tried to create a nice cushion to go out infront of Red, i hit Raikonnen.

I lost huge amount of time due to that crash and damage repair in the pits...but it was a freak accident...it happens.

when i wanted to go out from the pit i got sabelt in front of me so i got to move around him also. Its not ur fault sabelt just so hapens u pit when im on the way out.

I was trying to pull a gap to Red when i hit Raikonnen.....Yet i still move on. Red was clever enuff to pit for fresh new tyres and it almost worked...i have to really nurse the car home...the gap in the end is very2 close... i am lucky again.

All in all good race all...a very tough race fer me. I missed PCcrazy...couldve been a real firework if he was in.

Siut terkejut aku ....abang Yolanda ke tu? garangnyer...

I was thinking abt pitting twice too, but i dont think i have enuff pace to reduce the gap quickly if i were challenging a one stopper. On paper it'll work and it almost worked last nite for Red. sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Laguna Seca will be an interesting one....another legendary track with the infamous cockscrew. Last time i drove here is in GT4... Great great track.

I was lucky that i was able to spend some time learning the car and the track. This two weeks break will give everybody ample time and Laguna Seca is gonna be a firework. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

PCcrazy, miss ur presence on the previous race.

Where are we putting the article? Cant see any link on our site. I'll sure contribute to this.

Raikonnen, later on we will post an article...u might be interested.

Sabelt and I managed a low and mid 1.29 after practising just now. I went practicing offline and managed high 1.28. Red, wuts the timing like here?

Kudos for the website.

Very2 informative n proffesional.

Karom, baca balik posts one page back - my first time out here doing 1:33 tp biasalah hustler2 at least 5 seconds faster lol - tp jgn susah ati nanti diaorang hantar setup, betul tak kawan2?

i need to work on that 5-6 sec deficit
*
Betoi! My setup pon tak refined lagi...but basically, Im not using any new setup, just using sepang setup coz i think it has similar flow minus of course the hill climb.

I found that using previous setup is usefull coz its the result of my understanding of the cars characteristics...so tweaking from there is easy. But then like Evo detaching his rear ARB, its down to presonal preferences.

I cant get lower than mid 1.28....im sure some old timers to this track will manage to break the 1.27 barrier. Im new to this track really. I'll be very slow here.

So ive found this really useful site. And turn by turn guide to laguna seca. I found it very2 helpful. Check it out guys.

Laguna Seca Turn-by-turn guide!

Its slow in fast out circuit here. Too fast on the entry, say hello to sandtrap.
Creating an own aiming point is crucial here.

Yeap...so if u think that ure not gonna make it, just dont slow down. Keep the momentum coz if u stop in the sandtrap, takes u ages to drive out from there...

But still u have to watch the coast before joining back into the track.

Karom, sure mate....i'll fine tune the setup tonite and share. There are more places where u can take it flat out than u think. If u set up the car correctly though. Nice to know that ure joining us this weekend. Now where is Pitt!!?

Kudos to all who have put up the site. Professional Content. Concise rules but covers most aspect....except one critical part which worries me alot. Honking.
Macam mane? buleh ke? bile buleh hon, biler tabley....LOL

Open wheel hopefully can go with 1979. I really want to learn the car and to control the beast. F1 is good too but like PCcrazy brought forward before, u cant feel f1 cars really...and i agree with him. I think it is heavily dependant on ur visual que. No offence to pro-f1 mates (my teammate, Ryugan ..peace bro) Just my two cents.
