Is it must login as owner only can pay?
*
no need.

create a login account for the mytnbapp. then add as many owner/non-owner tnb accounts as you like.

each account (owner/non-owner), you can pay bill.

*update1: the app is quite buggy. kept crashing on my android laugh.gif made 3 non-owner payments, only 1 successful. status received via email (registered from mytnbapp). called pbb, only 1 successful transaction. 2 failed transactions recorded but not posted.

i believe pbb vs identified mytnbapp as ecom/online based on the OTP SMS. pray the payment went thru and eligble for cashback sweat.gif

*update2: retried for the 2 remaining non-owner accounts. successful.

*update3: payments reflected in about 30mins. rclxm9.gif

*update4: called pbb cs. 3 succesful transactions. merchant name: MY TNB-EC BANGSAR, eligible for cashback under ONLINE category rclxm9.gif will reconfirm again on next statement.

*update5: transactions succesfully posted in pbb online.

But the TNB will still come n check n issue TNB Bill 1 right?
Sorry for noob question.. As I scare after I register for my brother, my brother didn't receive the bill later.. Scare become ebill like how the bank did.. As I'm not staying with my bro n he is not tech savvy ppl..
*
still check le biggrin.gif

tnb ppl will always need to verify your meter usage, key into their handheld, later upload to database, then mytnbapp will retrieve the new reading/bill +1 day later.

my case, i have 1 owner+3 non-owners accounts registered in mytnbapp. physical bill still received by the respective owners.

p/s: in my case, PBB system warned me of multiple usage laugh.gif this is when i know the payment already thru.

Could either of you check the MCC? As I have WISE card and this could be another convenient way to pay (especially if uob payonline down).
*
just called PBB CS.

MY TNB-EC BANGSAR = TNB bill payment via MYTNBAPP = MCC 4900 - Electric, Gas, Sanitary and Water Utilities

Hmm same as HLB wise too.

But why the location Bangsar appears there? I assume it is the HQ or something..
*
yeah, most likely HQ location. the "bangsar" is shown in the transaction description. all cc have these location string in the description, right?

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jul 7 2016, 12:03 PM)
Does that mean we won't get 6% rebate ? since it's neither Dining / Grocery / Online.
But it does for OTP which is refer to Online transactions
*
It's "online", per verification by PBB CS. the SMS OTP also tagged the transaction as "eComm txn"

refer Post #32 for my updates and screenshots.

OT on HLB Wise. Last time, I inquired on which type of transactions are eligible for CB under utility and here is the reply:

The MCC 4900 is eligible but MY TNB-EC BANGSAR is not listed, so MCC should have the final say right?
*
problem with HLB Wise's category/merchant is that it hardcoded the detection based on certain string/description (as shared by you just now)

well, someone reported at HLB Wise topic that mytnbapp not eligible for cashback...

QUOTE(sysad @ May 25 2016, 12:42 PM)
I tried paying using myTNB sometime in February. No cashback. That's about RM80 of cashback sad.gif

At the apps, after you add the acc for non-owner and proceed to make payment, it will prompt for phone number. It refers to the owner phone no, the CC phone no or the device (with the apps) phone no?

It keeps crashing everytime I click pay bill
*
i just put my own mobile number. don't know what use to put that.

btw, I think the payment via app is temporary stopped. check the announcement in the app.

TNB really taking long time to post the payment.. I paid using PBVS on 5th July, bank posted on 6th July. My TNB apps also shown my payment cleared on 5th July, but my new TNB Bill dated 10 July still shown as unpaid..
*
i'm same here. paid using mytnbapp on 5 july, outstanding cleared on 5 july as well. payment posted in pbb vs statement on 6 july.

just that latest tnb's bill statement doesnt reflect the payment made.

i just called TNB, payment reflected in the account correct.

so for now, i'm not worried about the statement. biggrin.gif

Can pledge FD to apply this card?

what is the amount?
*
last time min fd pledge is RM34k with 1:1 Credit Limit ratio (i.e. FD amount = CL)

you also need to pay stamp duty 0.5% for the FD amount.

call/visit branch to find out.

How long is the tenure minimum need to lock your money there?

Once matured you're free to cash-out with still holding your VS?
*
there's a reason why it's called "pledging FD" to apply a credit card.

your FD is used as collateral since income level is not met or having other risk factors that are not favorable to PBB.

FD fledging is to board rate, not promo rate. so just let it autorenew the FD for as long as you're holding the card.

no FD = no collateral = no protection to PBB = no card. simple as that.
