thanks bro for the feedback. Just checking if it's plastic or metal inside? Thinking of applying another card since they said my supp not qualified due to bills payments via Payonline, but all my other previous supp got their gifts even though they 'payonline'. Anyway, CS say will appeal

May I know if I had registered earlier on for the 10% cash back under PB a world MasterCard, now that I also register for public bank swipe for more cash back, may I know is the previous MasterCard cash back will be void?

Or can I still use PB world master card solely for the earlier promotion to gain the 10% cash back and use PBVS for the swipe more cash back?

I haven't figured out the answer this yet. I registered my VS for Swipe More, and I had registered WMC earlier (in Jan) for 10%.

Note however that I have still not received any WMC 10% cashback for Jan and Feb, but I received Swipe More Week 1 already. Have you received WMC 10?%?

Normally in previous campaigns' TNC there is a clause saying that the new promo will override the old one (or something to that effect). For example, there is another new promo currently about spending with WMC at some beauty places (like Kiehls etc). That one has the "override" clause hence I didn't register.

I checked both promos TNC thoroughly and no such clause in either one.

Confirmed 2 things today. PB card services representative called me to verify my questions. Supplementary card details cannot be synced to primary card owner's e-banking account. Also, 9 supplementary cards is the maximum per primary card.
Cheers.

Hi guys, I just want to update that I used my card in Aussie on 26 March, and it is reflected in my unbilled transactions at the rate of 3.434199. The merchant charged 1.3% credit card fees, which is included in the total charged to my card.

KL money changer sell rate on 25th was 3.42. 27th was 3.41. I have no data for 26th tho.

I guess for overseas transactions where merchants do not charge credit card fees, it would be a good rate. For example dining in restaurants, i lost my aussie receipt but i know they did not charge credit card fees.

Edit: sorry my mistake, card fees included in transaction, so actual forex is 3.434199myr to aud.

Correct me but exchange rates changes sometimes by the minute but money changer rate might change once a day or twice a day

Banks and CC use real time forex rate plus the charge to use the card out of the home currency too. If they don't charge extra what will they make out of it to give you a line or credit and the risk with it

Of course banks charge higher. We don't always get to use cash overseas.

The message is to share how much diff is forex to expect when using pb vs. To me, it's not exorbitant high.

I wish I knew the rates for other bank cards vs pbvs. I could be using them instead.

Just to share my experiences: when I rented a car in Sydney last month, the rental company charged me a deposit on 7 Feb and refunded the same amount the next day after I returned the car. The transactions details are as follows:
Posting Transaction
07 FEB : 07 FEB THRIFTY AUSTRALIA AU : 1,329.16
385.00 AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS
09 FEB : 08 FEB THRIFTY AUSTRALIA AU : 1,283.31CR
385.00 AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS

You can see that I lost RM45.85 just over 1 day for same amount of debit and credit!!
I think PB charges a commission whether it is debit or credit of foreign currency. So you should avoid using credit card in overseas if you can.

PS: Strangely another car rental company also "charged" me a deposit but it was never reflected in the statement. It could be considered as other type of transaction so not reflected.

Hi, I believe that's due to buy-sell spread, as in your case 7Feb you buy aud, 9Feb you sell aud. Banks spread is much larger than money changer.

On another note, I believe car rental companies do not accept cash. So no choice, hv to use credit card. However usually we don't cancel, so no refunds. Just trying to use the best card for forex.

Some rental company uses the Pre-Authorization method which holds $XXX without actual charge. If you default, then they can charge the $XXX amount to your credit card. This what Hotels do when they ask for CC authorization.

Just a note, the AEON 1Utama cashier near the Wellness pharmacy & food store & promotional area is not eligible for cashback. If you are buying stuff from the promotion area, please pay it at the supermarket cashier.
