Anyone tried to apply this card with used FD?

For Public Bank Fixed Deposit (FD) customers who opt to apply PB Credit Card secured by FD,
the credit line assigned will be based on the FD pledged amount at a ratio of 1:1. To apply,
please personally submit your application at your FD account holding branch and bring along
your FD certificate for verification and photostat copy of your NRIC (both sides).
*
question is....? hmm.gif

min placement RM35k. you cannot just uplift/withdraw FD after gotten the card. you're basically pledged/locked the FD amount to the bank for as long as you use the card.

to get the FD fund back, cancel the card.

ultimately, the real question would be, whether it's worth locking your RM35k money just to get a card.

what if emergency to use 35k? why not just put 35k to a proper FD with promo rate, you'll get more profit/interest.

should be fine. you're bearing the telco cost anyway.

Applied last Friday. They forwarded it to the 'right department' on Tuesday.

The thing is, I dunno if approval SMS came. My parents haven't told me so I assume not.
*

Hi..
this is offer to single transaction ? or it can be use to multi-transaction, lets say few rm400 transaction total more than 2k..
*
per transaction.

e.g. buy electrical appliances (e.g. fridge, TV, etc.) from merchant A with amount RM2k, swipe with PBB card, then after 3 days, call PBB to convert that RM2k into 9month Flexipay.

advantages: good for single large sum transaction. no additional fees. simple call-in to CS, done in 1 minute. if you have multiple flexipay done, you can also BT your upcoming statement to another card, further extending the period (e.g. BT to MBB's 12mth 0%).

disadvantages: not by statement (for this, you do BT instead), need min RM2k for 9month 0% flexipay, tricky when your purchase is near bill date (T&C: 3 days after transaction, 5 days before bill date).

here's what's shown in the statement:

Just to share my experience too - my supp card holder went to branch and get a temp id / password (in seal envelope) then can login into PBE to create your own id / password. No need to open any saving account.

Can a SUPP card with separate statement open a PBe internet banking account without CASA?
*
If u really search or read thru, some branches are ok, some not.

For this new 5% cash back promo, can we combine the spending made with different cards into the total? e.g. RM300 with VS, RM500 with WMC, RM200 with VI to make it RM1k in total for the 5% cash back?

Thanks
*
if you didnt notice, the SMS registrataion is based on principal card's number.

Thanks, but I also read in the T&C that only 1 card needs to be registered and the other cards will be tracked automatically.

Just that I'm not sure if the spending calculation is calculated as total for all the cards or each card will have its own tracking  hmm.gif
*
from what i understand, each principal card (and its associated supp card) on its own.

Thanks. To be safe, I'll make it RM500 each instead of RM300/700, so that I can get RM25 each smile.gif
*
yeah split equal better.

for my pbb vs and supp, I also split between weeks so that I don't exceed monthly CB as well but also getting weekly promo cashback (rm25 for rm500 spending).

today already paid astro+maxis rm500 (supp)

last week maxis+umobile+unifi rm500 (principal)

Got diff version of answer from ringgit plus, they claimed follow currency rate.
*
instead of 'he say, they say' confusion, why not get official answer from pbb?

call CS to find out. always always always call bank CS to find out first. if want to get ppl's experience or input, ask in forum. end of the day, answer from bank is proper because PBB give you the cc service, not RinggitPlus.
