Driven the Wira 1.6A before.
Buttons are for POWER and ECO are as the members already mentioned;
POWER - higher fuel consumption, better pickup.
ECO-suppose to be lower fuel consumption, pickup slower.
Urban drive, put POWER. If put ECO-fuel consumption also quite high.
Use ECO on highways.
Have tried it on the highways, yes there is difference in consumption.

I used Power during urban drive just to get some faster pickup. I had a heavy foot.
The 1.6A is quite powerful for its class. Of course, this advantage doesn't come cheap either. Consumption was a bit high. I had this car way back, so I don't remember the actual FC.
Anyway you did say that your car is '97. So consumption should be very high now.

BTW, my colleague also had this car way back also. He had gearbox problem. Did you any experience this problem.

gearbox problem ?

What kinda problem? Just about to ask you all also, how do I know if my gearbox is working fine and when do I know when to change the gearbox oil ?

Working or not? This one I don't know how to answer. If your car still moving then it should be ok. Try other auto cars then you might notice the difference.
Gearbox oil change - interval of 40,000km. Must also do flushing.
Does other members have other idea about this?
