Has anyone assembled the Bandai Variable Valkyrie. I have had it for years but never assembled it. Feel intimidated by all the small parts and so on.

You mean the 1:72 VF1? My experience with VF-25, VF-31 and SV-262Hs, is that they are not for playing or often transforming them. Some plastic parts, really small parts will get snapped. In fact on VF-31, there's a connection part in the waist area that is only semi circle shape with weak support. Over time, the plastics will get loose, and the everything will just limbs around. Also, since its plastic, when you want to move things around after a long time, the friction is enough to snap things around.

I'm thinking of getting something like Hasegawa plastic model instead. It doesn't transform, but the jet mode will make  a great display on a table.

Thanks for the input and heads up on the weak support links. I dont intend to play with is also. Just want to build it and transform it once to display.

Must do that classic pose from the original cartoon.

Remember, they are plastic model kit. They're not meant to be played like the DX versions. But I'm poor. I'll have to make do with just the 1:72 kits. Even then, they're getting more expensive over the years.

Alamak.... I was just thiking of getting the same make but the Rick Hunter plane. I have the Roy Fokker version now. Sigh.....should have bought both the last time.
