Michelin Pilot Sport 4.
Conti only has UltraContact 6 or MaxContact 6..

Depends on your budget. If you want the best and has the budget for it, then go for Michelin PS4. If you want the best value for money, then got 2 choices now: cheapest is the Hankook V12 Evo2, or the very new Falken FK510 which should be just slightly more expensive than the V12E2 but also should be slightly better.
Slight correction, for Continental you can also go even better than MC6 with Conti Sport Contact series or the Extreme Contact Sport series. UC6 btw is a low end model only, not good for performance.

would like to ask for 225/45r18, between Michilen PS4, Continental UC6, MC6, which is more quiet and still has good control in wet road?
at highway i don't speed, always using cruise control at 110km/h but during heavy rain or cornering in highway i don't really decrease speed much as well
thx

Instead of all those 3, I'd suggest the Hankook V12 Evo2, coz it's UHP tire like PS4 with very good performance in the dry & wet but has been tested to be very quiet as well (only 66db noise level in the Car & Driver test), plus the price is much cheaper (only around rm300-325/pc if you buy in Klang Valley area) so it's the best bang for the buck now. PS4 will be better in terms of performance but it will not be as quiet and it's so much more expensive. MC6 is still unproven because still very new and not many reviews on it, plus the price is higher than V12E2. As for UC6, just forget about it coz it wont hold a candle to the V12E2!  laugh.gif

thx for the fast reply and wow, V12 Evo2 RM 325 is like half of PS4 RM 580. quite tempted.
but, i heard from 2 of my friends they are using hankook and their review not that good. 1 of them is driving Saga using the Kinergy and he said the braking is quite bad compare to Goodyear NCT5. Another 1, I am not really sure about the tyre model, but he said Falken better than Hankook...

I can vouch for what 6UE5T mentioned, as i just changed a set of v12evo2 on 225/45/18 size. Good value for money, and the best part is there is no penalty on rolling refinement (and could be even better than your current tyres).

FK510 should be available now if you put in a little effort to look around, as the official website have that product up very recently :
http://www.stamfordtyres.com.my/tyrespasse...p?b=1&c=1&t=147

Price wise, it is a slight premium to v12evo2 (but still cheaper than ps4). But the premium is worth it as the performance and refinement metrics is a notch better than v12evo2.

If no hurry, wait a while for fk510 to saturate the market and the supply stabalises. The pricing could be more favourable (or you wait till official launch of fk510 in hopes that there will be bundled initial launch goodies/promotions).

well, i can wait for few more months, since it's 50% tread wear now. but what are the recommended shop for Falken in klang valley?

You cannot just generalize like that. Every tire brands makes low end, mid range, and top end models, so of course in every brand there are those lousy ones too, including Michelin and Goodyear!  laugh.gif  So same case with Hankook, it surely also makes low end models which are not good in performance so not really recommended. But this V12E2 and the other model which is more difficult to find, the S1E2, are excellent UHP tires, comparative with other top tires like PS4, F1A3, CSC5, PZero, etc2, so very highly recommended especially due to the relatively much cheaper price.

50% still can use for some time actually. Usually use mine until only left 20-25%, or already hitting the minimum tread wear indicator. biggrin.gif  Maybe you can post some photos of them.

i see the price of PS4 seem like quite tempting now around RM580/pc and heard people said it's more quiet and comfortable?? cause I don't really like my current Toyo T1 Sport, a bit noisy and stiff ride

You try calling Ah Seong 012-699 1962
When earlier you mentioned 225/45/18, i already suspect what car you're currently having. Then when now you mentioned T1 sport, then i confirm you drive the skyactiv mazda3.

You and me, abang adik kakak lar....me drive same car also  laugh.gif

Seriously, don't swipe aside the hankook just because the brand is not as prestigious as michelin/continental/goodyear/bridgestone/(whatever well known brands). Why i say so is because it is a really value for money, yet good performance tyres. And since you mentioned stiff ride, it is even more suitable for you as the hankook has softer sidewalls.

Best of all, the noise is so much muted. For myself, on my favourite radio channel, i turned down the volume by 2 points, and it is still clearer and louder than when i had the t1s on. And throughout the driving speed till 150km/h, the engine revving noise and wind buffer noise is louder than the tyre noise!!! And you know that on the t1s anything above 60 is starting to hit your nerves.

It is hard to describe it, but the hankook's tyre noise signature is like mmmmmmmmmmmuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUU

As comparison, the t1s is like wwwwwwwuuuuuuuuuuaaaaaaAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH (the tyre pitch is much higher and louder, making conversation very difficult at higher speeds, and even more suffering for the rear passengers)

I even dare say that mazda malaysia chose the wrong tyre for the mazda3. If fitted with something like the v12evo2, hands down there would be at least 10% more mazda3 on the road. People (and even i myself) doubt that the mazda3 has really bad insulation, but actually not that bad, the main culprit is the toyo tyres, t1 shit!!!! After fitting the v12evo2, the driving character sounded so much better and you can now actually have a proper conversation at highway speeds.

The ps4 is will definitely be louder than the v12evo2, but not as harsh as the t1s. If you really want silent, maybe can consider the newly launched michelin primacy 4 if falken FK510 is not your cup of tea. Primacy 4 is premium touring tyres, definitely silent ride :
https://www.michelin.com.my/MY/en/tires/pro.../primacy-4.html

225/45/18 not officially available at the moment, but i checked michelin uk's website have this size. So maybe you can ask around for confirmation. MSRP quite close to what ps4 is selling now.

ya, mazda 3 and i thought it was quite a success already considering its appearance on road

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Jul 6 2018, 05:57 PM)
People might say PS4 more quiet is compared to PS3 (which is never known for being a quiet tire to begin with), but should not be by much. More comfortable than PS3, I'm not sure about that coz PS4 has stiffer sidewall compared to PS3 to improve the performance level to be more sporty. PS3 is known to have a bit softer sidewall.

The V12E2 trades off a bit of performance compared to PS4 for softer sidewall and lesser noise level, with much cheaper price. That's why we recommend this tire for you. Compared to T1S, the V12E2 is superior in ALL aspects. Toyo tires in general especially their Japanese made are overrated/not worth the price!

thx for both of you guys for your feedback and i think i already know which tyre i will get
