At that price point, Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 2, Hankook Ventus Prime3, Toyo Proxes TR1, Advan Fleva V701. Chip in a little more to get the best tyre for that size, Michelin Pilot Sport 3.
*
Can also try ask for the new RE004 if can get for rm200 or below coz last time the older RE003 can get for around rm180-190.

Another one worth to ask is the old Goodyear F1D5 if still available.

how often u guys do alignment and balancing?
*
Only when necessary if your steering is not straight anymore (alignment) or steering/body vibration (balancing), otherwise no need.

Hi. Need to change my tires. 175/65 r14.
Maybe i will stick with this size or change to 185/60 r14.

My front tires toyo neo3. Ngam2 2 years. But already botak.no thread at all.
My back tires continental cc6. 3 years plus. Still going strong. Still ada bunga / thread la. I can still use at least for 1 year.
Before this i put cc6 in front, but then my back tires botak, so i bought the neo 3 install at front, so cc6 i put at the back la.

So i guess neo3 is too soft. So fast botak. Only 2 years. No bunga/ thread at all. Well i used it for 55k km i guess.

How is hankook eco2 k435 performance during wet? Much better than cc6 or more or less the same?

Michelin xm2+ is too expensive for my axia. Just looking for an affordable tire that has a good (not superb since its cheap/ affordable) grip during wet.

Which one is better, Cc6 again, or hankook eco2 k435 or dunlop j5 ?

Not gonna buy toyo neo3 or the latest proxes cr1. I read toyo tires is too soft. Any other suggestion? Tq
*
This size all mostly lousy tires like cc6. 😆 Probably your best bet is the Dunlop J5 or just buy whichever is cheaper lah.

Hi, need your advice. I previously used 215/45r17 PS3 tyres. Now need to change them already. PS4 too expensive already. Was quoted RE004, Toyo TR1 or Lassa. Looking at something between RM 300 - 350 per tyre.
*
Your best choices other than PS4 are below.

Falken FK510 is the most proven as it has been reviewed globally by many reputable media and on average it comes out pretty good.

Goodyear F1S is the newest model so not much reviews yet but judging by the predecessor F1D5 then it should be pretty good too and generally Goodyear F1 series are always performing well and highly regarded as the top rival of Michelin PS series.

Continental MC6, not much reviews globally despite it already quite sometime in the market because it's designed and targeted for local market but those who had used it seems quite pleased in general.

If want much cheaper but seems still decent, can try Maxxis Victra I-Pro, decent reviews globally just probably will wear out much faster cuz the tread wear rating is pretty low at 240 only.

Thank you all for your suggestions and recommendations.

Falken seem not readily available. Any suggestion where to find in Kota Kemuning area? MC6 seems interesting and affordable but a bit worried abt its wet performance and aquaplaning. Goodyear F1 - think may not be cheap as well...think more than RM 350 closer to RM400.
*
Based on my casual observations, F1S prices is around 15-20% cheaper than PS4, so I think should be closer to rm300.

How's this P7 tyres? Am currently using giti 280 and it is a fantastic tyre with good grip, quiet and high treadwear closed to 50k km now.

It's a bargain now on sales at LzD although it is 2018 mfg year.
*
If you feel Giti is fantastic then just about anything is fantastic.

I know wat u mean and has always practice exactly that, but last few months i have this thoughts :
If i need to swap the tyres every 15k, i hv to do it twice a year.
In 4 yrs = 8x, each time alignment + balancing if rm40, =320
Is it worth it? 😁
Unless my car so ngam got do some repair or change on the tyres area, then do the swap n alignment balancing, then oklo

Also again, when we rotate the tyres the front tyres which are usually has less meat will go to the back as well, so is LPPL 😂
*
If you car alignment already good to begin with, you no need to do alignment, just rotate is enough. Balancing has nothing to do with it too. If you want to save further or want to reduce the rotation frequency, can still do at just 20k km instead of 15k km.

Generally, when is necessary to do alignment?

Change absorber, lower arm or tyre: MUST? How about let's say I hit a very huge pothole or keep hitting pothole, or everyday driving on uneven road (tiny stones rather than tar road)

And how about balancing?
*
Alignment only needed if your steering is not straight anymore. If you change suspension parts that requires you to open tie rods or steering rack then you'd need to do alignment.
Balancing only needed if you feel vibration after reaching certain speeds and if you change tires.
If you don't experience any of those symptoms then no need to do those things. Don't fix things which are not broken. FYI I can go as far as 30k km or more without doing any of those.

Actually my steering is straight after alignment last week but when locked during parked it is not

I remember when did alignment the guy went to driver seat with screwdriver to open up or adjust steering

So as long as when running straight road the steering does not tilt to one side then cobsider alignment ok? Previously my old tyre, front inner worn off badly until metal cord exposed then I realised
*
Alignment always starts with centering the steering position first so that's what the guy did. If the steering was not centered accurately, then even though the car drives straight but your steering orientation will be slightly tilted.

Inner side worn off faster is normal due to negative camber. Some cars can wear off the inside faster (typically performance cars due to more aggressive cambers), some cars slower/more even. To minimise this, can set the alignment to be a bit toe-in.

Sifus,

Tyre 215/45/17 what brands recommended?
Budget around RM300+ per tyre.

Currently using Viking, would like to upgrade a bit.

Bridgestone Potenza RE004 ok?
Or should also consider Michelin Primacy 4/ Pilot Sport 4?
*
RE004 so far reviews are pretty good and much improved over RE003 so can consider, price around 270-280 only, much cheaper than PS4. Other option you should check out is Goodyear F1 Sport, should be even cheaper than RE004. Can also ask for Falken FK510, should be similar pricing.

Thank you for info.

For comparable prices, which one would you choose: RE004 or Primacy 4?
*
RE004 better performance grip but harder, Primacy 4 more comfort and silent but less performance.

suggestion for 205 55 16 tyre?
budget around 300-350 per donut
comfort 60-70%
*
Goodyear F1 Sport, less than rm300.

In general, how long is the lifespan for tyres?

For cars with low mileage (7-8000km per year), assuming  the tyres will go botak at 70,000km, can use up until 10 years?

Or "change after 5 years sebab getah dah keras, even bunga still ada lagi"?
*
You just have to observe the conditions. Maximum by the book might reach 10 years but in reality no guarantee they can hold up that long, so as they get older the risk gets higher. I personally never reached that long, maybe the oldest I had used were up to 7 years.

Is it okay for 185/60 R15 (Swift)?
*
Is it still using stock rims? Or what is the width of the rims? Cuz for Swift you can use either 185/60/15 or 195/55/15.

Michelin PS4 vs P4 vs Conti MC6 vs UC6

Can someone share the pros and cons if you are using one of this tyre now ?

Heard Michelin Made in China now ?? How about Conti ?
*
PS4 is the best in that list, true UHP category with very good dry/wet performance and sporty handling, reasonably comfortable and not so noisy.
MC6 is next, maybe like half a step below PS4, like entry level UHP.
P4 is 1 class lower, a touring category with more comfort and silence but less grip performance and handling.
UC6 is half a step behind P4, also touring tire category, second lowest model in Continental range so not really recommended.

Michelin made in China is still Michelin so no issues. I had used Goodyear F1 made in China too and Potenza RE003 made in Indonesia, no problems and performed as expected. But avoid those China brands.

QUOTE(seatux @ Apr 27 2021, 02:36 PM)
Still stock rims. I just take a photo of my tires just now. That is how I know of the size.
*
Then just continue with it.

used PS4, it is the best tyre in heavy rain, period. previously on ps3 as stock tyre when bought the car. Was considering changing to MC6 back then due to the price offered, however, saw a real owner review on FB, it great on dry but not so best on wet. In my case, I prefer good wet traction.

Wife bought X70 ckd, get 19" UC6 SUV Continental as stock tyre. To be honest, it doesn't grip good on heavy rain, feel kinda aquaplaning. maybe it is a SUV make this kind of behavious. but will proceed with Michelin once this tyre gone
*
Yes PS4 is very good in wet performance, carry forward and further improve from PS3.

My friends who had tried UC6 in other various cars also mentioned UC6 not so good in the wet.

Hi guys, want to know your opinion.

Recently i just change from std rim to tc105n (saga facelift 2020) and installed ftuned spring sport.

I noticed that my front car is higher than rear (3 jari depan, 2 jari blkg)

I'm using my old tyre 185/55 at my new rim. Will changing to new tyre size 195/50 front, 195/55 rear solve my car height problem?
*
Those sizes will actually further increases the front gaps and reduces the rear gaps! The problem is nothing to do with tire size but the springs, so you need to complain back to FTuned, why the setup becomes like that.

I already asked Ftuned, they said it's problem with saga chassis (I don't understand this)

Then if I use 195/55 front, 195/50 for rear can solve the problem? Or better change to other spring?
*
As I said earlier, no it won't, it will actually worsen it. It's not a problem with the tire size or chassis, it's the springs not well made, maybe the springs height are not proper or the springs rate not correct (front too hard or rear too soft). Basically you bought lousy set of springs!

I guess the F in Ftuned stands for fuck cuz they really bend you over by selling you something which wasn't according to what you were expecting, and then proceeded to claim that it's the car's issue, not theirs. They could have informed you on this or manage expectations before proceeding too

But technically soft side walls will make cornerings feel no confidence but technically will absorb the bumps and uneven roads to give me comfort right?

I also heard ps4 is considered soft sidewalls.
*
PS4 is considered a bit stiff sidewalls, stiffer than previous PS3.
