Hi guys,

Not sure what happened. Wife drove my car and found out my few months old xm2 plus got scratched and peeled at sidewall here. How? Need to change ah?
*
From the looks it just the outer small piece of rubber peel off. Visually is fine but you may monitor it regularly if its bulge or develop minor crack. If budget not allow switch this tire to the rear as it has lesser load stress and lesser tire side wall flex which may reduce the potential of damage further vs front tire. If going for long distance for peace of mind you may change it..la

If it's old and worn out, yes.

Hey,

With 235/50R18 you have a decent choice. From my price table I got the following options.

Kumho Ecsta PS31 235/50R18 468
Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 235/50R18 538
Continental UC6 235/50R18 540
Continental Max Contact 6 235/50R18 550
Michelin Primacy 4st 235/50R18 730

What are your main requirements? Are you happy with MC6?

Looking at the options, if you have the budget, I would defeintely recommend Primacy 4st due to its outstanding wet performances.
I made a comparison between Primacy 4st vs MC6 quite sometime ago here

Never used the others but Advan Fleva is hot garbage.

Currently I am using Continental MC6 235/55/R18. It is good but worn out super fast. Previously I used Michelin and it lasted very much longer.

I know Michelin is the best. Is there any other brand that is long lasting for 235/55/R18?

whats ur review on MC6 on wet road situation? If u want a tire that won't wear out, Achilles ATR Sport 2 brows.gif, just don't complaint on the road tyre noise and grip. For me, Michelin PS3 can last longer than my PS4 based on my own experience.

Hi sifus, looking to replace my Polo 185/60/15. Got the below quotations,

Conti cc7 199
Yoko es32 169
Toyo cr1 164
Hankook k435 150
Goodyear 150 dp-v1
Xm2 199

Was wondering if the CR1 is the better option than ES32 or DP-V1?

Many thanks in advance.

Office car with 17" tyre just change from local Toyo last time, iinm TR1, just poor on wet. Then they changed to Achilles ATR Sport 2, more worst on wet, damn scary if raining, multiple times Slip indicator come out. Then early June, changed to China UHP tyre, Powertrac Racing Pro, the Tread design kinda similar to Michelin PS3 & PS4 mixed. From own review, it miles better than Toyo TR1 on wet.
