the more i read about tires (am no auto expert, just a normal car user), am nearing to the conclusion that one can never get:

1. comfortable and quite
2. durable
3. performance (good grip)

it is always a combination of maximum of 2. unless i am wrong?

looking to change my tires tomorrow - 205/55/16 and torn between all reviews. of course, the favorites are:

1. PS3
2. RE003
3. XM2
4. V12 evo2

i know this has been asked numerous times but any recommended shops in subang or neighboring area that stocks them with competitive pricing?

thanks!

Just replaced GY NCT5 for Continental CC6 at 155/pc for my MyVi (175/65/r14) at Wan Hing Kajang. Noticeable noise reduction and comfort level, hopefully better fuel economy too. The pattern is almost similar to CC5 but with additional patterns on the inner thread.

so i've changed to PS3 at touch autocare in SS19 subang for RM345 (205/55/r16) which i think is reasonable as i was quoted RM410 in ss14 subang and RM390 at one of the shops in klang. sorry can't recall the shops name as i randomly called them up.

price is exclusive valve and GST.

product review: so far it is quiet and grip is good when cornering when dry. but i find it a bit stiff. probably need getting use to.

Just came across this brand today Laufenn. its from Hankook which from the net says it was out since end 2014. Anyone familiar with it.

I was quote RM 230 / piece.

I am actually at cross roads. my front tire is bridgestone and its wearing out the back ones are contipremiumcontact 2 and doing well still. initial thought is to change all the same brand so the thread is all the same (which in my believe mean better driving and handling) but the price for CPC2 is like between 350 - 450 which surprises me.

So either i suck it up and spend the money for the front 2 to be conti or change all fours to something else or have 2 brands of tires on the car.

I am looking for a tire that is good for tough, high speed(sometimes when rushing) and good grip for wet & dry while giving good ride comfort and quite as well. I am only familiar with a few brands so keeping the mind open to suggestions for others as long as quality is good and fair price. Surely wanna keep it as low as i can.. budget is an issue till Feb 2017

Anyone can share advise and guidance will be much appreciated.

if it cost so high, better u opt for branded tyres like dunlop d05,achiles sport 2,maxxis ipro,,neuton nt8000 definitely better choice,confidence/performance at around the same range of price.or maybe better u go for hankook v2 itself which is cheaper than laufennn for this entry level brands.just my personal opinion.

how much would those be for a 205/55R/16? guessing you mean they are cheaper then the continental CPC2 right?

i did come across the neuton tires as well, are they good? its sub brand from yokohama right? thought its the same category as Laufenn

That's because PERFORMANCE doesn't mix well with DURABILITY....

There’s no tyre that excel in all categories/conditions…. Tyre Manufacturer would claims that they have such tyre but in reality… it’s a difference story. The main reason for this… road surface condition & climate

As a consumer.... ask yourself these question instead

1) what kind of performance are you looking for? dry or wet...
2) what is your tolerance level when it comes to performance?
3) durability.... how long do you expect the tyre to last (min.)
4) what is your tolerance level when it comes to tyre noise?
5) what is your tolerance level when it comes to ride comfort?

By the way.... you missed out PRICE in your list above tongue.gif

with that... it comes to your final question.....

6) How much are you willing to spend on your tyre?

but ii still wonder is it alright and safe to have 2 different brands of tires on a car? does it affect the car in any way like safety / handling / consumption etc

wonder if anyone here may have some insights to this

Among the Dunlop tyres, I'm wondering what's the price and performance difference between the models such as SP Sport, Formula J5, etc? Looks confusing in terms of sub-brand positioning.

if you're not the kind of attacking corner at high speed.... then no issue.

otherwise... its dangerous especially when the road is wet

Hello

Need an advise here. smile.gif

I am looking for Michelin donut with the size of 245/45R17 and encounter a few offers:

1. Nearest Michelin Authentic dealer - RM 450 (not include GST)

2. Facebook - RM 440 (include GST)

3. Tyre Price Malaysia - RM 400 (include all but the tire is 2015's)

Should i opt for the 2015 tires? The price is very tempting.. hmm.gif

Any recommendations for 195/55/r15(Proton Iriz) tyres below rm200 each that provides good comfort, good grip dry/wet and noise reduction?
Some friends recommend:

1. Falken ZIEX ZE914 EcoRun
2. Hankook V12 evo2
3. Goodyear Eagle F1 D5
4. Continental CC6
Which is better or any better recommendations?

Thanks.
