looked into this LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG and HARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRD .......................

Let me help you save your time and effort  biggrin.gif
-you may buy it.
-You may hide it in a garage somewhere.
-You may use most of its parts as spare parts.

And contrary to popular opinion,
-You may NOT use it in Sepang.... iirc, even legitimate track cars have some form of documentation that comes along with it cause by right, scrap cars have to be chopped in half before it is allowed to be imported into Malaysia. (yes i know some people offer 'services' to import scrap cars as a whole but that involves under table money along the way so no, not legal)

talking about Singaporean scrap cars, you cannot even buy the engine block and register it on your carcause theres no documentation. (yes I also looked into that)
Sg cars usually get imported illegally as spare part cars, or cloned and driven like regular cars (illegal and u r so screwed if caught)
*
Hahaha thanks for the tip
Because i was browsing some online trading site
And i saw a very cheap beemer, the price was obvious its a sing scrp car but one particular detail attracted me was * it said the car has an original jpj roadtax*
I pm that person, he said the beemer was converted and register under malaysia because they change the engine/chasis number
From there, i was puzzle

What model?
Labuan better stick to myvi or vios.
Unless you wanna keep hold of expensive cars to help certain people avoid duties.
TLDR it's illegal.
Buying it might land you in jail as they got many stinger operations now.
*
Thats why i was in doubt when the seller said * the car has an original JPJ roadtax due to the chasis n engine number change*

Without PC this few days cause put it in fridge to kill ants.
A matter of taste as both are equal in terms of engine tech & issues & performance. Persona you can get younger, Sentra you can get 1800cc.
Bought one long time ago for RM1000, a project car. Not sure about loan arrangements if you can't settle the 32k on the spot and other fees. As I remember auction admin fees is a percentage of the price, then gotta drive or tow it away within 24 hours. Name transfer, road tax and insurance all settle ownself. If got any problems from previous owner like summons you gotta settle yourself the auctioneer not responsible. This was many moons ago, dunno nowadays SOP how.
The only way to legalize it would be to transfer chassis and engine number from an existing registered car usually those accident case where the car is in write off condition but they didn't write off the car then transfer that cars documents to your Singapore scrap.
*
Heard about that also, but it is safe?
In term of JPJ issues

Previously all Japanese cars only give customers 3 years warranty and generally they have decent to high RV so very unlikely any within 55k range would still have warranty but of course now that is changing with pressure from VW and Koreans giving 5 years warranty, I think Nissan is the one that really put themselves out there with a 7 years warranty offer, before this Mazda was offering 5 years warranty and 3 years free service to boost their sales. So, yes the market is changing but since we're talking about the used car market.....those cars we're looking at typically don't have any warranty.

Unless you want to go for mega deal cars which are conti's which might be abit more troublesome/expensive to maintain but it is a new car, with warranty and all conti's are great to drive.

2015 Peugeot 408 - i've posted this before they're clearing all their current generation of 408's both the 1.6THP and 2.0NA are going for roughly the same price, some pre-reg company/demo cars, some brand new, it really depends but if you go to their HQ or brand in Glenmarie you can pick and choose from a list. Is the car any good? Well, yes when everything is working it is a good car but buying Peugeot in Malaysia means you're brand locking yourself to only authorized service centers as outside shops can't really help you maintain this car unless they are Peugeot specialist coz especially for the 1.6 Turbo all the diagnostics are by computers.

You want to see the new 408 I've linked a youtube video below:

2016 VW Polo/Vento 1.2/1.6 - okay so the hatch is called the Polo and the sedan is called the Vento, both have a choice of either 1.2TSI + 7AT DSG or 1.6NA + 6AT slushbox. From what I'm told the TSI and DSG issues have been resolved with clever maintenance packsbut if you can forgo the forced induced power then the 1600cc NA is a decent engine and paired with a good normal autobox. You've gotta shop around some dealers have cars as old as 2014, some cars are new, some cars are demo/pre-reg/company/etc. So go around and get the best deal, the price range can drop to under 50k for certain mileage/age/status. For new it should be around the 69k range.

Bluntly put it is very difficult to get a genuine mileage if they really want to tamper with it, usually they don't unless a certain car has been sitting in their car lot for sometime. Even if it has warranty they usually won't give you the service booklet/user manual, been around and hardly any used car dealer ever gives it to a used car buyer. They'll always say, "oh this is 2016 car and VW give 5 years warranty, you bring to 3S they will let you claim warranty based on year stamped on car card". Let's say they give you the booklet but it is empty, the owner never service at 3S except for once/twice always also outside workshop and people usually disorganized when sell cars all the receipts they won't handover. Let's say you got the booklet and got information -- you know which 3S the previous user bring it to? Some 3S have their own chop so easier to find out but some just use a generic "HONDA MALAYSIA" stamp and 3S and authorized service centers all run independently without linked data so it's difficult to find out.
Usually it is like this.

Let's say the owner buy the car worth 40k.
Then his repayment every month is 1k.
He pay for 10 months (10k) then kenot afford so rather than sell outside (lose money) or car get tarik (bank black list) he will decide to offer sambing bayar. He will usually ask you pay 10k deposit then continue 1k until loan finish. After that he report police you steal the car then take it back how?

Usually this is scam, better stay away.
Buy singapore car on cash basis also more reliable.

what if the post from a dealer rather than private?

been missing for a while....
is it really worth it yo YOU? this is only a question YOU can answer... if the fiesta serves you fine... then why?
why so many spectras? cause people try get rid of them, and they just dont sell that well.
10k, lets be realistic i'm guessing you want a frugal cheap to maintain car?

easiest option, an earlier  saga blm
+its a workhorse, does its job and moves from a-b with relatively little complaints.
+regular maintenance is low, running costs low, fuel consumption ain't great but not so bad its an issue.
-Its only issue which can be annoying is the iafm module which is kinda crap and can fail. But even then it still runs fine

larger option, persona
+its also a workhorse with plenty of room(much bigger actually) bigger engine and well its pretty much an upsized saga .
+regular maintenance is acceptable (ofc you pay more since some bits like tires are larger), running costs also fairly, fuel consumption is also not great (cause its an even bigger heavier saga).
-same issue with the iafm

then theres everyone's typical answer myvi
-nough said, i dont like these fellas.
what a random bunch of quite different cars with really... what are you looking for anyway?
have stared for a long time now, cant find much similarities between these models.
*
been looking for RWD, manual car for a weekend car, not looking to fiddle around the car, just buy to drive
not looking at MX-5 due to small and cramped, Rx-8 due to rotary engine maintenance and super high-FC, 350Z due to roadtax (still in-consideration),

Silvia s15 was in the sweet-spot for me, by the way what do you mean "other pressing matters"??

well.... its an old car, sooner or later some work is probably in order? Remember, its over 10 years old! Its also very difficult to find a stock unit which hasnt been molested or abused. Better bring someone who knows what they are looking at to check them out. The car itself is a pretty solid base, its just a question of what its been put through and if its been maintained properly. Want better answers about the car specifically? join the car group, the owners will be able to provide you more accurate and specific answers.

Miatas, love em or hate em, i guess if the cabin space is an issue no point bringing in the mr-s. Similar idea as the miata, a tiny lightweight body, rear wheel drive car with just enough zest to get it going. Still a fun little car.

Actually the renesis in the rx8 isnt such a heavy drinker  compared to an sr20det,where theres power in these old school cars, your fc will take a hit. Theres also the fear of rebuilding them, cant get a straight answer from owners, some say the late gens are alright? im really not sure. The answers from owners are a mixed bag.
rwd cars are nice and all but if you arnt gona be flinging its arse it round the bends, a fwd will do you fine (admittedly might be cause i own a fwd car, so i kind of don't mind them too much especially if you are not looking for one with huge output). ofc given the chance would probably pick a rwd as well  biggrin.gif.

Same here
Been driving Fwd for quite some time
Thought wanna get Rwd 2nd hand car

My uncle owned an auto MR2, looks okay
Havent been in it yet, but looks a bit bigger than miata/mrs
Regarding S15, agreed on the need someone expert in this kind of car, thought about it also
Because most of the car on sale, about 60-80% did some mod to the engine
I think i found one before, 90% stock 10% bodywork and tyre but sold already..sigh

Thats why RWD meant for weekend
Since my daily is FWD, fun on highway but kinda boring on twisty road.. hahaha

Hi,

after given some thought, I plan to let go my first best driven car..

I plan to check out Mytukar & Carsome

but before that, may I know if they are able to assist in cancelling the insurance of car as well as interchange my carplate to my wife car since I really like my carplate (special plate series)

also does having a service book and record can help increase it value despite high mileage?

Model : Proton Preve 1.6T (2014)

AFAIK,  you cannot interchange two old vehicle registration numbers.

Need to buy a new vehicle (motorbike also can),
then transfer your old vehicle number to it.

Yoir old vehicle then get the new number.

i see
thanks for the clarification.. no wonder I see people buy bike just to transfer their plate number (temporary set up) sweat.gif

let say my car still have loan

if I plan to sell the car or go for trade-in, which value should I look into for settlement?

a. The outstanding balance

go online to website like mudah, carlist, etc. to have an idea of your cars resale value.
there is a huge difference between brands.

e.g. you bought a top spec toyota vios vs chery omoda for 99k
both cars same loan amount and interest rate and tenure
however after 7 years your settlement value for toyota vios is 25k but resale value 40k, vs chery omoda settlement value is 25k but resale value only 20k
this is why malaysians generally target resale value when considering their new car purchase
*
what about actual selling price to dealer and resale value?

eg: used car dealer offer RM50k but on their website resale value ~RM60k, loan settlement is 55k.
technically i will be at loss right.
