Hi all, I’m looking to change my vw Jetta 2015 as it’s too costly to maintain. Hopefully you guys are able to provide good recommendations.

1. Brand: Japanese - Toyota, Honda or Mazda
2. Budget - around 150k can increase abit.
3. New/Used/Unreg -new
4. Specs.
5. Transmission. (Automatic)
6. NA or FI ? (NA = Natural Aspirated, FI = Forced-induction aka Turbocharged/Supercharged) - either
7. Type. (Sedan)
8. Remarks: I am looking for a fuel economical car and reliable car to use for the next 10 to 15 years.
I was considering the Honda civic but I read there was issues with the steering rack. Another car I considered was the Toyota Corolla but I think it’s under powered. Now considering mazda 3. Looking for a car with the least major issues.

I just tested the cx-5 as the Mazda showroom doesn’t have Mazda 3. It was a nice drive. I am just wondering whether any problem with this carand how is the maintenance price post warranty.
I also tested the Toyota Corolla which seems to be slightly under powered but still okay. But the build quality is not that great. Seems like I am overpaying for this car. The SA mentioned it’s a good value car and for maintenance post warranty it is cheaper than Mazda. He was also saying the Mazda car is old technology. Any input?

I did see the cx-30 but I think the boot space is too small so I didn’t consider it. Now I’m considering the civic even with the risk of the steering rack issue. The SA said she can increase the rebate to RM14k for the V spec. Mazda only gave rm2k off. Are these the best rebates that can be given now?

U survey civic FE used (2022) unit better cz owner desperately letgo their cz hate the steering rack issue, hence price cheaper by a lot vs new + rebates

I checked already. The 2023 civic costs 128k and the 2022 civic costs 120k. So would prefer to get the new one after discount around rm131k.

Or is there any new cars that will be launching by year end?

Still torn between the civic, Altis and the cx-5. Each got its own pros and cons.

I still havent bought yet, tomorrow last day for this month rebate for the cross. More in favour of the cx5 or either the Toyota cross hybrid but the foot brake…. Still thinking if I should just get the cx-5 now or wait until next year for the facelift cross. But the agent told me only early next year available and won’t have 8k discount and they usually increase price by 10% but he said not confirmed.

dont rush bro. a better deal might coming in the next few days/month. myself planning to buy a car since March this year but until today haven't bought yet. somehow deals from SA keep getting better n better. proton 7-8k rebate until today still available. honda steering rack issue model up to 12k. toyota cc hyrid 8k rebate always available. cheery 8k or free maintenances.  Mitsubishi pickup up to 22k. latest hyundai suv 50k. i went to mazda showroom yesterday, only cx3 got promo.  mazda rarely got rebate. why dont u try test drive jaecoo j7

Honda SA gave me 14k off for the civic. But I not so keen. The Mazda SA from KL willing to offer 5k off but the JB branch only offer 2k.
For the Toyota, I really don’t like the foot brake. So means I need to wait for the facelift version unless they give even more offer next month. This month the SA willing to give 9k off. Is JAECOO reliable?

dont go for civic, steering rack still got problem. i did confirm with honda SA also. that mazda 2-5k discount probably his/her own commission so it depends on the SA. jaecoo brand new. unsure. but the engine n chassis same with tiggo 7 pro. im in tiggo 7 pro owner whatasap group. manage to sneak in because it is also on my watchlist. so far most of the complain minor sound here n there probably panel fitting and finish problem. and then  1-2 have low engine oil level after few thousand km ride. overall no major issue so far. jaecoo should be the same

Already made my choice. I just booked the cx-5 after considering everything. The dealer in KL gave quite a good deal this month so I have to travel to KL one weekend to collect the car. JB Mazda dealer cannot offer much discount.
