1. Brand : Honda crv, Mazda cx-5
2. Budget : 50-60k++
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used
4. Specs : Any
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : NA
7. Type : SUV
8. Remarks : Just a bigger 3rd car for my son.

Hi all, any recommendations? Pros and cons of both?
CRV from 2014 onwards
CX-5 from 2014 onwards

Main concern : Reliability and longevity of use(Another 10years++ would be good)

Any other models with RELIABILITY+LONGEVITY of use @ SUV within the price is fine too. Please recommend smile.gif

How old is your son, what is he driving currently and any problems , his size too big ? Distance very far ?

A new Ativa X 62K will get you 5 years of warranty and likely last you 10+ years with cheaper maintenance.

Thanks for your reply dogbert_chew

He's 20, still studying. Yes, he 6ft 3inch. Doesn't mind any models / brands as long he has the peace of mind as per mentioned.
He also doesn't mind old cars too. As long as a reliable small or med SUVs. Does prefer driving up hills and into terrain for hiking and workouts twice every week.

Thank you for your suggestion on the Ativa though.

Waa 6'3"! Forget Ativa..

Minimum B segment eg HRV can move driver seat back passenger still got space due to excellent Honda design for space. . Yr budget should get you a 4-6 year old model.

However these so called SUV cannot go offroad terrains, if really hardcore need 4x4..

I know right xD

Is HRV hard to maintain apart from faulty back doors etc? Is it that reliable and can it withstand for another 10years ++?

I bought a 2016 model 2 years ago mileage ard 100K
Adequate 140hp power for city, highway 1800rpm cruise at 120kmh love the ultra seat functions

So far no faults at all.

Hi guys,

Any opinions on Subaru XV? Year 2018 and above? Is it reliable and long lasting? Won't bring many problems right? TIA.
