The proton parts issues was so yesterday. Now ok already. If warranty claim, that normal 2-3 weeks for HQ approval - parts arrived at SC, this similar to HM.

Agreed.
I shared regarding my X50 accident earlier, everything settled within 3 weeks. But there are still those (possible competitor salesman) that says otherwise.

Thanks bro for your opinion i appreciate it.  I do consider waiting for toyota yaris cross/perodua nexis too. Any news/update when it will be launch?
*
They let Corolla Cross facelift (with electronic parking brake) launch first end of this year.

Hence P2 Nexis and Yaris Cross possible first half next year.

Yes, I’m trying with Carsome and Carro as my friend is working as an agent there. He will helped me to get a quote later this week.

A. I’m big and huge in a way, I’m thinking to look at something old and slightly bigger. Such as Honda Accord 2005, 2001 S280 etc.. would it be a too big risk for me? Or is there any Reccomended old yet durable car, understand that there will be a risk.
B. Will check it out.

C. In some ways I still need my own transport although I’m not driving it that often.

Thanks for the opinion and replies
*
2001 S280? The airsuspension alone might be the cost of the car not to mention wear and tear. Esp that kacang one if me I will leave it for scrap metal. If u looking at 2005 accord maybe should consider the accord perdana but need budget for steering rack as Honda's are notorious with their racks.

Hi all, I’m looking to change my vw Jetta 2015 as it’s too costly to maintain. Hopefully you guys are able to provide good recommendations.

1. Brand: Japanese - Toyota, Honda or Mazda
2. Budget - around 150k can increase abit.
3. New/Used/Unreg -new
4. Specs.
5. Transmission. (Automatic)
6. NA or FI ? (NA = Natural Aspirated, FI = Forced-induction aka Turbocharged/Supercharged) - either
7. Type. (Sedan)
8. Remarks: I am looking for a fuel economical car and reliable car to use for the next 10 to 15 years.
I was considering the Honda civic but I read there was issues with the steering rack. Another car I considered was the Toyota Corolla but I think it’s under powered. Now considering mazda 3. Looking for a car with the least major issues.
*
Camry 2018/2019 should be within budget.

i check at data.gov total only 142 unit register until today which probably already include the preregister unit. they also include free servicing for 5 years too. what do u think, still not a good deal?

i already test drive the car, except for the performance, the rest such as handling n ride seem better than the previous version of hrv. im yet to try the new hrv. anyways, seem its really a segment B suv bar perfomance.

wrv outside good looking. inside looks like a 50k cars. some more lack of equipment haha
ativa, like wrv, A-seg suv n quite small for me. mazda cx3 also the same.
cherry omoda also arround 100k now but reputation damage already after the viral incident.

dilema

I still havent bought yet, tomorrow last day for this month rebate for the cross. More in favour of the cx5 or either the Toyota cross hybrid but the foot brake…. Still thinking if I should just get the cx-5 now or wait until next year for the facelift cross. But the agent told me only early next year available and won’t have 8k discount and they usually increase price by 10% but he said not confirmed.

Honda SA gave me 14k off for the civic. But I not so keen. The Mazda SA from KL willing to offer 5k off but the JB branch only offer 2k.
For the Toyota, I really don’t like the foot brake. So means I need to wait for the facelift version unless they give even more offer next month. This month the SA willing to give 9k off. Is JAECOO reliable?

dont go for civic, steering rack still got problem. i did confirm with honda SA also. that mazda 2-5k discount probably his/her own commission so it depends on the SA. jaecoo brand new. unsure. but the engine n chassis same with tiggo 7 pro. im in tiggo 7 pro owner whatasap group. manage to sneak in because it is also on my watchlist. so far most of the complain minor sound here n there probably panel fitting and finish problem. and then 1-2 have low engine oil level after few thousand km ride. overall no major issue so far. jaecoo should be the same

Already made my choice. I just booked the cx-5 after considering everything. The dealer in KL gave quite a good deal this month so I have to travel to KL one weekend to collect the car. JB Mazda dealer cannot offer much discount.

Hi, need advice and opinions to choose a new Proton Saga MT or AT.

Manual Transmission – MT
Fun driving
Low price
Can play (control) transmission power
<3000 rpm underpower
Less features (No ESC)
Less parts / support / service (less supply)
Low resale value (less demand)

Auto Transmission – 4AT
Easy driving
Moderate price
Follow specified auto transmission power (less control)
Slope climbing underpower
More features (ESC)
More parts / support / service (more supply)
Moderate resale value (more demand)

Saga is a basic and cheap car, my focus on basic features, reliability, and basic safety.

Usually, I drive 30 minutes distance per trip with moderate traffic so do not mind manual transmission fatigue. Long distance or heavy traffic driving maybe once per month only.

I plan to use it long term and my concern:

MT production end of life and might be last batch of stock, future parts / support / service would be limited. AT production still going strong.

MT clutch pump located inside gear box expensive to repair.

SA seems reluctant to sell MT model, said need special request due to availability, so not sure can get specific colour or any stock.

I think either MT and 4AT have their pro and con, please help to add if any advice or opinion. Thank you.

The new Axia handling is better than the old model, with a longer wheelbase than Saga. If single driver acceleration can equal Saga with the more efficient DCVT but once loaded with passengers, the small HP & torque ratios to weight quickly becomes disappointing.

Saga new model being developed in Hangzhou now expected launch 2026 with 1.5L sedan and hatchback models replacing the current saga, iriz, persona completely, something akin to City Sedan & Hatchback variants. If Proton can price it right to fight Bezza, Axia/Myvi then the older Saga models might face serious drop in value.

But meanwhile, Saga is still a safer car for now vs P2 eggshells

Suggest test drive Alza AV RM76K

It has sufficient power for short daily travels even with 4 passengers, proven reliability and good support of P2 service centres. Occasional outstation travel at legal highway speed is covered with plenty of luggage space.

Wow, congratulations on your first post in LYN after joining 12 years ago! 🎉

Here are 5 hybrids suggested for test drive.
ModelBodyPrice
Yaris CrossSUV90-110K
CitySedan112K
CityHatchback113K
HR-VSUV141K
Corolla CrossSUV142K

Yaris Cross hybrid eta 1st half 2025.
Mazda Hybrids are not yet sold here.
Excluded Serena due to poor reliability, service & X90 as it is still new unproven track record.
