QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Mar 20 2023, 10:40 PM) How old is your son, what is he driving currently and any problems , his size too big ? Distance very far ? Thanks for your reply dogbert_chewA new Ativa X 62K will get you 5 years of warranty and likely last you 10+ years with cheaper maintenance. He's 20, still studying. Yes, he 6ft 3inch. Doesn't mind any models / brands as long he has the peace of mind as per mentioned. He also doesn't mind old cars too. As long as a reliable small or med SUVs. Does prefer driving up hills and into terrain for hiking and workouts twice every week. Thank you for your suggestion on the Ativa though. |

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Mar 13 2023, 12:55 PM) Shouldn't be a problem to bring your mechanic 'friend' to check out the car as long as it doesnt involve dismantling anything for any used car dealers incl SD Auto. Thanks so much Chew! Any used car is negotiable, just do your research and nego with knowledge. First is general market conditions (when manufactured, time of the year, possible fuel hike affecting larger engines etc) then car model specifics (certain model weaknesses requiring $ to rectify, knocks and defects spotted, painting needed, worn suspension etc) Ah still looking around and still so many options out there.. Sime Darby premium selection, salesman told me the cars that they take, usually go through a stringegent inspection and make the neccesary refurbishments.. Not to sure if it's just cosmetics or inner parts as well.. This post has been edited by Calvin Seak: Mar 21 2023, 09:14 AM |

Minimum B segment eg HRV can move driver seat back passenger still got space due to excellent Honda design for space. . Yr budget should get you a 4-6 year old model. However these so called SUV cannot go offroad terrains, if really hardcore need 4x4.. Pubgamesrhard liked this post

Is it that reliable and can it withstand for another 10years ++? |

If you have some experience relative or friend to help in checking out used cars, can carefully consider and budget in possible repairs to their lower purchase price. |

Type: Hatchback safe reliable easy to maintain with reasonable costs good handling Reliable - subjective but usually new cars higher Easy to maintain - new car warranty gives a big boost first 5 years Good handling - Axia yes, Myvi no, Polo gua tatao let sifus elaborate. Actually which car depends on your driving pattern and transport needs in what environment.. If can elaborate then easier to give feedback. Eg. Family w kids? |

Do test drive both a few times to help your evaluation. Its free. |

Hey guys, I'm deciding to change my 9 year old myvi that has served me very well throughout the entire time.
I've gotten a good promotion and pay increase and thinking of getting another car since my myvi is a little.compact. 1. Brand.: Any 2. Budget: < 125k 3. New/Used/Unreg: used 4. Specs: any 5. Transmission. Automatic 6. NA or FI ?: Any 7. Type: would have 5 people in the car but mostly only on weekends. Otherwise plan to use it as a daily car. 8. Remarks. Plan to throw about 20-30k for repairs on the cars once I get my hands on them if there's Anything to be fixed. I've been eyeing a few cars, namely the 2015/2016 mazda 2.5 facelifted version, or going for f30 330i, es250 or gs250. Kinda keen on the gs250 but a little worried about parts and all since it's been discontinued. I like audio and while I know there are aftermarket options, having it by default would be great. I'm looking for older luxuries if possible and fine with any brands to use it a daily driver to work. I have experience driving a d segment car time to time, so I'm fine with the size.
