yeah, if your car is in good condition i'm sure in their minds they're thinking "sucker".
unless you plan to sell directly to friends/family, don't really bother to fix up cosmetic issues.
however, if got major issues like the car cannot start or aircon not working you better fix it.
used car dealers won't care what ICE, rims, bodykit, and mods done.

much appreciated. they valued my '06 satria neo 1.6m at 11.5k.
a bit sad, but nothing much i can say. my car is stock standard aside from the rims, skyline r32 seats, soundproofing and USB HU.
i guess 11.5k is fair price...

but im just saying - in case i decided to not sell the car to them, even tho i originally plan to for downpayment, they have no right to force me rite? sorry for so many questions tongue.gif

the accesories mean nothing to them...... way i see it, you have 2 options, 1 dekit the car before selling (dont think you will make much, definitely less than 500 to swap with stock parts) OR 2 sell the car directly to a new owner.... if the car is in decent cond, i don't think you will have problems selling for a little more~

the price is probably because it is a 10 years old car, the used car dealer has a small window between now and december to sell it to someone using a loan, when 2017 rolls over he has to find a cash buyer. so i guess that explains the price.

Nothing you can do about the soundproofing it can't be so readily removed so just leave it and ask for a bit more during negotiations.
HU, Rims, and seats just remove it and sell it in LYN garage sales.
Go to the chop shop and buy stock standard seats and some cheapo hu.
As long as got something there the used car dealer won't try to complain to cut the price even more.

they cannot force, but if your loan was dependent on the trade-in.
if you decide not to sell then at worst case you need to:

1. pay the amount in cash so can still use the approved bank loan.
2. resubmit bank loan.

hoho bad idea... dont think the prius c as a 40k car.... you will probably end up paying several times more maintaining that car long term compared to the axia or iris....

well... depends on what you compare it with, againt a new axia, almost anything else would be more expensive haha, remember its an older car, things do wear and tear and all that costs money.

your risk is somewhat limitedlah... so far i have not heard of any major flaws with these cars.....honda also did state somewhere that its battery pack would be only around 5k if you need a replacement so thats also not very exp

performs in what way? performance?? frankly speaking, performance wise, both are pretty poor performers.... even the manuals are very slow so, if you ask me, this is just one of those things you are going to have to accept

technically the cvt would deliver better economy and smoothness, at the cost of a slightly higher running cost not sure how reliable it would be down the road, the punch cvts on the saga are generally doing alright...

**edit i just realized... "NET SALARY" thats actually quite alot....... you can easily afford car like these if you can save so much.....**

I concur on the FLX CVT. its also listed as EEV iianm. and wear n tear parts, cosmetics, and other related parts that is shared with the saga (and the volume too, which ensures economies of scale, hence lower price) will ensure lower ownership costs on the long run.

and u can never go wrong with a 3-box sedan - aside from the plain boring looks, sedan generally have bigger boot space, somewhat 'safer' choice as far as other ppl's views are concerned, and bigger too - im feeling the pinch sebab driving neo now. mana mau letak baby seat? haha

just my doploh sen.

4. Specs : Full spec
5. Transmission: Auto
6. NA or FI : NA

just guessing... but the saga willl probably be a facelift (with some stuff thrown in to compete with the beza) while the persona would probably be more exp.........

ohh yeah jawagar u should consider the 1-2 yr old cars.... someone i know bought a 2015 iris, top spec for around 43k+ otr (definitely less than 45k)..... which if you ask me dirt cheap for what it is

2010 Honda Civic Hybrid - in terms of interior space this would be a good one since instead of having to make do with a B-segment car this C-segment hybrid has depreciated enough to make it a viable choice. So of course being a C-segment you'll get better stuff like bigger interior and boot space, much more polish interior design not basic and over plasticky like a Vios interior, better safety features (ABS, EBD, BA, and VSA), and much more. In terms of fuel economy you can't beat a Honda hybrid, the same chassis with the 1800cc or 2000cc engine would cost much more as their RV is much better. I'd say just get a car like this, if anything happens later on a 1800cc engine swap is possible, ordinarily an upgrade from 1300cc to 1800cc would be impossible but you can request for special compensation from JPJ because there is no in between 1300cc and 1800cc -- can also blame the 1300cc + IMA not supported for engine swap so need a normal engine tongue.gif

Hi all, hoping for your expert opinion

1. Brand : Any
2. Budget : Not more than RM80k (Not more than RM1k/month)
3. New/Used/Unreg : Any
4. Specs : Any
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : Any - Not much knowledge on this
7. Type : SUV or crossover. I love cars with higher driver seat
8. Remarks :

Hi all! Im not much of a car enthusiast, but lately cars with higher driver seat (SUV, MPV that sort) have attracted my attention.

At first I was thinking to get a new Haval H2 but when i learnt about the market reselling value of non-popular cars, it definitely changed my whole plan. Im hoping to get a reliable car that can last me a good 6 to 7 years before i would plan for a better luxury car (it doesnt hurt for a man to dream a little). My job doesnt require a lot of travelling, only daily drive from PJ to my office in KL city. However as I'm at management level now and slowly climbing the corporate ladder, it seems driving my 9 years Persona is not so appropriate anymore especially to company events and the occasional fetching of company biz partners.

I'm not looking for something luxurious (definitely not considering my current budget), but something presentable and reliable would do for now. Looking forward to all your inputs. Thank you very much!

am assuming you have no need for potential time bombs or more exp to maintain cars, so am gona ignore the euros in this case.

teana, accord and camry (you can afford one which is around 5 years old)
+ for a d segments, these are one of the more common d segment cars available in the market. (teana less so tho)
+ Well known to be reliable and the maintanance for these are not horrible since parts are easily obtainable and some parts are shared across their makes
- very common cars, they are not exactly special, being 5 years old, expect some wear and tear
- road tax might be a bit steep for he higher end larger cc ones

Suzuki Kizashi
+ very very pretty car
+ also pretty reliable
- 2.4l engine which is powerful but..... roadtax sweat.gif
- not such a common car here, parts should be no issue but it's something to think about

there's a whole array of suvs and crossovers to chose from but i know peanuts about them.... so cant help you there

2009 Nissan Dualis - nothing impresses clients, business partners and people in general when you roll up to them with something unique looking, and this JDM is quite suitable for your needs, it is within budget and isn't too old. Being a JDM and rare people can't really tell if it is an old or new model, although this car and the Murano started the current Nissan design language for their SUV's most people can't tell this model was actually launched back in 2006 (10 years ago) but this one is a 2009 model so it is about 7 years old now. The one in this advertisement looks okay probably a nice car wash and polish would make it look as good as new. If you're able to find one which is unreg that is even better, unregs were being sold for around 70-80k-ish. Best part is although your car has the looks of a rare JDM inder the skin it is the same as that ugly boxy Nissan X-Trail laugh.gif so maintenance is dirt cheap by SUV standards.
