1. Brand: Reliable brand (toyota, honda etc)
2. Budget:100 to 160k+-
3. New/Used/Unreg. New
7. Type. Sedan (strictly no SUV) Can't do EV
wanted to get a HEV/fuel efficient sedan

replace a 11 year old HRV,
similar cheap/worry free maintenance experience
HRV for commuting and errands running feels ridiculous.

Civic eHev
mazda 3
city eHev

If your existing B-segment is ridiculous for commuting & errands, why would you target new C-segment car?

How much is your yearly mileage? If not a lot then no point getting a more complex and expensive HEV with both engine and motor integrated just for fuel efficiency.

Feels something not right, eg HRV launched here 2015, how can it be 11 years old?

hence will list down all new HEV <170K below for consideration

BodyBrandModelRM'K
HatchMGMG3est 80-100
SUVToyotaYaris Crossest 100-110

SUVHondaHR-V141

SedanHondaCivic168

Normal ICE sedans between 100-170K only Civic, Corolla, Mazda3.

While waiting for /K EV experts to come in,
Isn't a brand new Seal at 164K within your budget?

suggest u change the 5-6 years old tyres asap.
*
On the tyres alone, have a Kelisa most of the time parked in garage. The 8 yr old tyres are still supple and full thread I continue to drive around town.

Perhaps not outstation high speed run though and tyres degrade much faster if car parked under hot sun.

1. Brand : Prefer Japanese or reliable brand no easy breakdown.
2. Budget. Max 50k, can be above if manufactured on 2019 or newer due to 9 year loan availability.
3. New/Used/Unreg. Used
7. Type: Sedan or Hatch.

A. for the same money I could experience a better (more comfortable) car that would be very nice.

B. reduce the monthly commitment of currently 670 (370 car + 300 fuel) as I do roughly 350km per week of travel.

Currently Proton Iriz 2022 1.3. I love almost everything bout the car, except for the fuel guzzling engine.

1) City Hybrid GM6: 2019 model still should have 9 year used car loan available + still have at least 2 years of battery warranty left. 2018 models I think can get for under 43k with 1 year battery remaining I think, which can be viable, but left with a 7 year loan. Being an only 6 year old honda, I think this platform should be relatively bulletproof.

*
Hello welcome back from 2021 and congrats for getting the Iriz in 2022.

A. For comfort the City is not going to match the Iriz (if i recall my test drive of friends cars). Iriz is still the best car to chuck around corners while being extremely stable on highways. The 1.3 engine doesn't do the chassis justice though and it is better paired to the 1.6 Personally am still upset Proton is developing the new 1.5 Saga on the old Savvy platform rather than this one.

Hence I suggest you test drive the new City (still same platform as the GM6) see if you like it.

B. If cost savings is your objective, i would hesitate to move from
1. 3 year car to 6-7 year car
2. Known problem free car to unknown used unit
3. Normal ice to hybrid (need to maintain both engine & motor/battery & power split devices)
4.The risk of additional repairs as it ages will negate any fuel savings.
Say fc 10kml to 14kml, for 350km/weekly =1400km/month you save ard 40liters =RM82/month only (ron95 Rm2.05)

Hence if you want a better car, prepare to pay more and put aside cost savings.

Being saving up for an EV but if this launches at 70-80K, am getting one.

Most important - Test Drive a few times.

Anyone can advice what to look out for in used CX-5? Also what is the price range for a used CX-5 2021/2022 model 2.0 Petrol. Any good dealer to approach? Also a good mechanic to hire to check the car before buying, online got some advertise, but dont know if good.

I’m considering buying a second-hand Nissan Serena from 2018 or 2019. We have three kids and two adults, and I really like the sliding door feature because it makes it easier for the kids to get to the third row. Is there anything specific I should be cautious about with this car?

2nd hand car to replace 2009 Myvi.
Budget 30k but 25k and 10k max for fixing.

Priorities
comfort (smoothen out bumpy road),
safer than my Myvi which feels like tin kosong,
not too small nor too big (no Axia nor Iriz size, nor SUV, prefer bigger than 2009 Myvi a bit),
acceptable maintenance
fixing cost (willing to DIY and learn some also).

Idon't care too much about FC
Occasionally drive back to hometown from KL to Pahang passing Karak Highway, so I prefer a safer car.
*
Can consider used Persona eg 2022 RM26K
https://www.mudah.my/2022-proton-persona-pr...a-110219987.htm
But be very careful check condition (flood, accident etc) even if still under warranty

If you can drive manual, a brand new Saga RM35K safer better handling slightly longer than Myvi is good choice with minimal city driving mostly highway.

I wonder how comfortable is the Persona? I was actually expecting maybe C-segments and above so didn't expect this answer.
*
Persona is still B-Segment but is slightly bigger than Myvi as you requested. Proton cars handle better than Perodua and their seats are more comfortable.

If you're looking for used C-segments then Preve, Suprima. Other makes include Civic, Altis. Perdana is D-segment.
Larger Segment vehicles, their maintenance and repair cost increases proportionally.

Ah .. first time I heard about the captain chairs. Sound exclusive. But somehow, I needs to eliminate the third seat row as it is not needed. Will look into captain chairs with luxury environment.

*
X90 is a mild hybrid SUV with captain chairs.
Last row seats fold flat into the floor

I'm back again, this time im setting the budget at 60k for a used Japanese MPV, I saw 2019 Honda BRV seems to be selling around this price. My questions:
1. How is the car in terms for reliability?
2. Maybe ocassional long distance driving in peninsula with wife and/or extended family
3. Any workshops in KL/Selangor region that are good with Honda cars? or back to the Honda workshop?
*
Why get a used 6 yr old BRV that's no longer in production when a brand new Alza based on Toyota Veloz is available at a similar price?

Hi, not sure if this the correct thread to ask, would like to get some opinions which is more worth it, with loan for 5 year and planning to use for 5 years only then resell. Either:
2018 Bezza 1.3 x (RM23k)
Condition: 88k mileage, modified with android player, reverse cam, lowered suspension
Or
New Axia X
*
Firstly, what is your requirement?
Single driver/ passengers or Grab, city/outstation, sedate/ fast & furious, some financial background - stay w family/ married with kids, only car in family or 2nd, 3rd car etc

Then comes your experience with used cars. Do you have regular mechanic - can chat about basic maintenance or this first car total noob. If so better get brand new. Cos the Bezza already 7 years, and the 88K mileage looks very suspicious like standard used car dealer adjusted figure. Also it is not stock.. Already modified. Likely heavily raced.

Hi, planning to get car for family trip, can recommend?
1. Brand :TOYOTA
2. Budget :60K
3. New/Used/Unreg :USED
7. Type :8 Seated
*
8 seats? Only Toyota Innova or Kia Carnival here.
If only Toyota can go search for used Innova.

Buy car for ONE family trip? 🤔
Or fetching family regularly. How many people, all adults?
If 7 pax, can consider new Alza 63K.

or should i pull my budget, go for alphard or vellfire?

60K for Alphard? 🤔 What year..

Anyway, decide which used model that suit your budget (buy, repair, maintain). Join their club eg in Lowyat, FB to find out more about the variant pro & con before searching for a reliable non-accident non-flooded unit.

There is no Hyundai Satria 🙄

The staria is only launched 3+ years from 180K. Replacing the ancient Starex

Suggest you align your aspirations, model knowledge and budget
