Both pretty much equal in almost all aspects, IMO. From my experience as passenger in both.

Just which look and brand you prefer.

Arguably City looks more modern, whereas the Vios looks undeniably "asian".

Maybe will test drive both cars then decide, thanks.

I recently got transferred to JB and looking for a used car. My budget is between 5-15K and I prefer automatic transmission. What car should/ can I get with that budget in mind?

1. Brand : Any
2. Budget : 50k - 90k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used (Preferably not too old. Max 2015)
4. Specs : Any
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : Any
7. Type : Sedan
8. Remarks : Mostly used for city driving around KL. Always in traffic jam.

I looked at a few cars on carlist. Was interested in Proton Perdana 2.4L. Used 2016 model at 70k. New 2018 model at almost 90k. Not bad but people keep telling me don't go for it. Saw Audi A6 Hybrid 2015, about 85k. But people keep saying it was a failure of a car until got discontinued. So now I'm confused what to buy.

Preferably I want a solid good car with good FC. Safety features as well as this will be for my mum. If possible, give me a few options and I'll go test drive them. Thanks!

85k you can get a used full spec Hyundai ioniq from Hyundai PreOwned selection..probably would save you the hassle and give you more peace of mind compared to buying a used Audi A6 hybrid.

Wah, u read my mind. Been looking up on the Hyundai Ioniq. I heard that the battery warranty is 8 years and even if have to change the batt after warranty die, won't cost more than RM10k which is good. What is your take on this car? Any bad review so far?

I'm interested in D segment second hand if possible. If cannot, then I go for C segment. Currently eyeing a 2nd hand Honda Civic or 2nd Hand Hyundai Ioniq

Dear Sifus,

I've been looking for 2nd gen Toyota Harrier XU30.
1. Anyone know the what the different between Toyota & Lexus XU30 ?
2. There's 240G, 3.0V6, 3.5 model (Others than road tax & fuel consumption, any diff in spare parts price?)
3. Various model (Premium, Alcantara, AIRS, Powerboot, Keyless Start) Can't find which one is the original spec, not 3rd party mod
4. Like Camry, lot of owner complaint about dashboard problem. Any fix for this problem ?
5. Please recommend thing to check for this model.
6. Kindly recommend any other RELIABLE SUV with the same price range

http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/catalog/TOYOTA__HARRIER/

check the model code and the msrp cost, higher always better but try avoid those 4wheel , sunroof and electronic absorber version (airs) , its very troublesome when reach certain age.

Lexus harrier do not have 2.4 engine version, but it come with 3.3v6 which toyota harrier dont have. 2.4 is 4at gearbox, 3.0 , 3.3 & 3.5v6 comewith 5at .
Suggest to find year 2006 (facelifted ) or newer version, comewith chrome door handle .
Power boot + jbl soundsystem + 2electric leather seat already highspec . Alcantara is half leather mix with fabric seat spec.
Dashboard oxidized crack , sunroof rubber crack cause leaking , tail lamp led socket burn , electronic auto adjustable steering malfunction is common issue .
Reliable engine + bullet proof gearbox made this no rival on its premium range , bmw x5 3.0i year 2007 is good choice also , but just prepare some cash for major leaking issue .
Happy hunting =)

My wife has one and she loves it. I must admit I am also jealous of her for having one tongue.gif

But in all seriousness, the car is very very nice to drive. A few people we drove did get annoyed with the alarms and alerts that the car has but to that we answered by saying these safety features help us avoid accidents. We had a few times where we are very glad to have the AEB and blind spot monitor engage and avoid unnecessary accidents.

U might want to ask around if the used units do get the free service because right now my wife really hasn't paid a dime on maintenance at all.

The only complain I have with the car is that the head unit is not the best and can be a pain to use when driving.

Have you test driven them? If i were in your position, i would take the saga. I have driven and been in the back seats of both, and saga is better in terms of stability, handling and passenger comfort.

But if you want a fuel efficient car like many others do, go for bezza. This is why you can see more bezzas on the road. Both have plus and minus points of course.

in term of space and in-car accessories/entertainment, bezza is better right?

i also heard sage CVT has negative review, what is the main drawback on this, just higher fuel consumption?

Yes this is true, bezza feels slightly spacious inside (rear passengers) but you have to make do with a quite uncomfortable seating position (the rear seats are too upright for me). Bezza also has a noticeably larger boot.

In car entertainment wise, bezza wins here. Comparing advanced with premium, bezza has a touch screen head unit with mirror link function, navigation and a proper reverse camera. It also comes with more features like eco idle, keyless entry, leather seats etc.

Regarding the cvt, it did have some issues back then but what i was told is proton has done some updates on the latest saga. What i noticed is, it feels less sluggish now and the cvt whine is greatly reduced - resulting to a quite decent nvh.

Fuel consumption wise, its no secret that perodua is the winner. Same with other models, bezza would be the most efficient here. Saga uses more fuel in the city but it gets better on highways.

With that said, i could see someone who appreciates extra features / gizmos and lower fuel consumption opt for bezza. Being a perodua, its a great city car. While if you need a car that handles better, more stable at high speeds and offers a quite comfortable ride for the passengers, saga is the one.

But of course you need to survive with a dated and simple interior design, smaller boot and perhaps higher fc. So in the end you need to find the one that serves your needs better.
