Thanks for the suggestion. However, due to reduction in budget I'll need a revision for a new car suggestion.
Will buy the car on January 2018. Expect to pay cash to avoid interest rate.

1. Not local car brand, no rare brand which will cause the difficulty of finding spare parts.
2. RM10-RM20k
3. Used
4. 1.6 above
5. Transmission: Manual if possible, otherwise auto will be fine too.
6. NA or FI ? NA for cheaper maintenance.
7. Type: Sedan or even coupe, whichever.
8. Low/Average maintenance cost, planning to use the car for at least 3-5 years while still studying+part time work. Low to average FC will do.

Additional Remarks: Drive mostly around city, some of the time will go for long distance travel (20KM 1 way). Besides that, I'll ship the car back to Kuching and most likely stay in Kuching in the future. So the spare parts of the car must be easily available in Kuching. My driving habit: Aggressive driving, max acceleration most of the time. So please suggest a reliable durable car, thanks.

no worries, u cant even get a loan for these

too many conflicting demands here
1)Low to average FC AND powerful dont go well together. ALSO even the most fuel efficient car and Aggressive driving, max acceleration most of the time, forget it if, even a viva drinks fuel If you floor it.
-Give up something
2)durable car cause you want to floor it. Any car abused this way will suffer more wear and tear.
-The more power you produce/abuse, the more the wear simple

I dont know what how to advise you here. I suspect you havent really put much thought into what you want and even worse how much you can afford OR actually need to spend on the upkeep of cars yet. (i mean you did even ask about turboed models, beemers, stuff like that)
So... think about it again.... come up with NUMBERS, how much can you afford to spend on it per year. Remember roadtax, insurance AND maintenance, can you spare 3k a year? 2k? Buying something cheap can often result in alot higher long term maintenance than you expect.

Also im sure you have something in mind now, spit it out, maybe i can offer an alternative. At this very point i can only advise you to reconsider local cars. With this budget its the best you will get (now this changes if you can afford hefty maintenance figures, there exist nice cars with peanut resale values but cost a bomb to upkeep)

Hi all. Planning to get an SUV in Jan 2018.

1. Brand: Any
2. Budget: sub 60k
3. New/Used/Unreg: Used or Recon
4. Specs: 2.0 and Below
5. Transmission: AT
6. NA or FI: Either one is fine
7. Type: SUV

Appreciate your kind advice. I have no experience with buying 2nd hand car, but with the current economy situation, I'm not willing to go with buying new.

Hi, looking for this car

1. Brand : Mini Cooper S Countryman
2. Budget : 120k-130k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Unreg
4. Specs :
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : FI
7. Type : SUV
8. Remarks : Prefer 2013 model and above

Im in a dilemma whether to go for a recond vs brand new car. The brand new car would be either Honda HRV and KIA Sportage GT line (both price ard RM120k). Really keen on the Mini Cooper S as it is more stylish. Maintenance wise im not sure cuz it depends on the car condition. Any advice or recommendation?

Thanks,
inc.louis

hello sifus.

1) Brand  : Any
2) Budget : <<RM140K
3) New/Used/Unreg : Preferably new
4) Spec : I really opt for an MVP with loads of safety features
5) Transmission : auto
6) NA or FI : Any
7) Type : MPV ( 7 seater ++)
8) Remarks : Just returned from car expo in MAEPS Serdang, and I like the new Toyota    Innova 2.0 X. It kinda fits my need. It is around RM135K iianm. Any review about this car ?
*
well if it checks your boxes its alright. am not really an mpv person, cant really help you. Only other decent machine i can think off costs alittle over the innova, the serena s hybrid but its not so well equipped safety wise.

tight budget, what you can afford
sx4 - not exactly huge but does the job
latio - same thing
nautica/rush - larger incase you like the type, fc might not be great
persona (older model ofc) - large, spacious, handles great low maintanance, but fc is on the garbage side

I would reckon if my budget is massive I'd go for a Volvo but alas.

Do you have an opinion about the Hyundai Ioniq?

Hi, considering now between used cx-5 and cr-v 2.0. Year 2013 onwards. I see more cx-5 on sale in carlist.my compared to crv. Any thoughts on maintenance cost and reliability? Tq much appreciated.

Am looking for a budget purchase, will be good if the car is not too old. Maybe within 2-5 years old. And also cheap maintenance...
Car will mostly be used for in city driving but occasional long distance for vacation will be good.

Saw that there is some Proton Iriz (2014-2015) around at 28k, would that be a good choice since it's quite a safe car?
If I go for Saga it is cheap but maybe it lacks safety features?

As for Myvi in that price range seems like the newest possible is like 2010.

Hmm any suggestion? Just a quick question how much does it cost usually for car ownership transfer fees etc
