I have similar question between UK and japan spec or any other variations for Merc E250 (2013-14)

Couple of cars they I saw seem to have various features, like Park Assist, lane Assist, etc, some dont, or have partial features

hmmm

Thanks for the insight. But first time buy used car. How do i check with SC?  Just give the license plate number ?
*
You can talk to the seller and then bring the car to the SC for a full checkup as well. Would cost around RM80

thanks zenix. indeed, i checked the volvo thread here in FnF and noticed that the price of the wiper is 400-ish. crazy figure. guess i need to look for something else then. too expensive to maintain.

now i need to look for something else below 80k that is good enough in terms of long distance travel and comfy. saw a 2014 fluence at 56k, but need a few more options for the sake of comparison.
*
you sure? probably with wiper motor

was buying a used car is high risk ??

i went to car dealer near bangi area last weekend , those used car are really look like nice and very nice , definitely doesn't look like got problem even after test drive ,

but for the price is selling is almost half price for a new car  , i worry after i buy it , i need to spent a lot to repair in future .

how do i ensure the car is never meet car accident before or never repair from any workshop ? any better way to further check the used car ??
*
Buying a used car is always a risk, no matter where we buy from.

few steps can be taken:-

1) ask for after sales warranty - most of my car I have obtained either thru dealer or private, I have manage to get 1-3 months warranty (not the paid warranty like smart)
2) bring to service center and get it checked; together with ECU diagnosis
3) get a history report from the service center, most of the cars when serviced at official SC, they have the online record that you could check
4) bring a knowledgeable person or mechanic with you for initial inspection
5) look for any abnormalities

those are some that you could perform to reduce the risk

infact I sold my 2 beloved car such a way, and even gave a 3 month personal warranty

hi guys, abit out of topic....how should we know whether the used car is accident-free ?

Previously there were forummer mentioned to hire the foreman to inspect, but which foreman in KL that provide this kind of services as well as trust-able?
*
I would suggest to bring it to a Service Center and get it checked, it only cost about RM 80 or so

Then assuming is re-con car like Vellfire, Alphard etc.....I can seek the dealer to bring it to Toyota centre to get it inspected?
*
It depends on the dealer, some will bring to your appointed SC by themselves. Others will just follow you to the SC while the car is being inspected. Talk to them.

Can somebody enlighten me why does the Passat (2011-2014) models depreciate so quickly?
A 2012 model can go as low as 37k which is less than a quarter of its original price given that it is only 6 years old. Compared to a 2006 Honda Civic 1.8 which is around 30k and they were both in a different segments and totally different era even.

I know a friend who owns the Passat and he had made dozen of various warranty claims but he is still driving it till today.
*
It all has to do with market confidence and perception.

I use a VW Passat CC 2.0 2011 model (wet DSG), its been a good ride for me smile.gif

Planning to getting a 2012/2013 Kia Optima.....Any pros and cons reviews on this cars? Like maintenance cost...fuel consumption, repairing cost on spare parts and ETC?

Thanks in advanced! =]
*
All I can say is that its a good buy, the only setback is its resale value, if you are not worried about it, then go ahead.

as for part price, not much different with other d-segment (camry, accord). You could check out part price with a seller at LYN.

1. Brand : Hyundai Santa Fe 2012
2. Budget : 45k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used
4. Specs : Full Spec
5. Transmission : auto
6. NA or FI :  -
7. Type : 7 seater
8. Remarks :

(a) Saw lot of comments from outside or even here saying that it is not a good buy due to weak resell value etc.
- This wont be my concern as I dont think I will resell it

(b) Reason of choosing this car
- Super SUV with 7 seater = NICE
- Leather seat
- Build in reverse camera
- Push start
- sunroof
- power enough which able to move such big size car (those who drove Starex before might understand this wow feeling)
- other necessary feature
* Yes I know these spec and feature are common nowadays but trust me u cant get all these in 45k budget

(c ) Saw there are few model of this Santa fe 2012 which having different engine, some with turbo or some is using diesel.. Appreciate if any santa fe researcher can suggest which one is better and why.
*
I presume you are looking at the petrol model, right...the diesel has more torque if you are into it. But either way good buy, alternative you could look at Sorento as well, both look for the premium model. I took the 2013 sorento, 2 years ago...and surprisingly the price had not gone down that much!

Thanks for the recommendation. My concern for used/recond car is the spare part availability.
*
You may consider 7 seater SUV such as Sorento, Sante Fe since you are familiar with Korean car

Thanks for the suggestion but I prefer mpv since my kids are 8 n 4 yrs old..
Easier for them to go up and down by themself.
*
Yup...MPV is better for bigger group and luggage. You could look at Kia Carnival as well. The new models looks better

Hi guys, 1st time posting here. Sorry if wrong format ah? I just got into accident in LPT. I drove proton waja MMC auto. Since insurance want to total lost my car i need to get another car. But since I've had waja for a long time, so hard to replace man. I've looked into some hondas and toyotas.

1. Budget : <RM20K and below.
2. Transmission : Auto,
3. Type : sedan
4. Spec : front and rear brake disc,
5. Misc : part easy to find, engine easy to maintain. Must be safe and sturdy.
6. Most important is that can fit 2 detachable wheelchair in bonet since I'm taking care of my 2 OKU siblings.
*
Maybe time to look at SUV?
WHen you mentioned 2 wheel chair, I could think of Sorento/Santa Fe, for comfort and space

I'm not well verse with 2.5L model; that seems to meet your budget...Sifu zenix would be able to advise further

https://www.mudah.my/2009+Naza+SORENTO+2+5+...CE-79230670.htm
https://www.mudah.my/2009+Naza+SORENTO+2+5+...A+-78762172.htm

But the 2.4L is reliable and sturdy, but its around 30K+
https://www.mudah.my/2012+Kia+SORENTO+2+4+A...AT-75003186.htm

If you prefer Diesel, then there is the Santa Fe 2.2L
