Hi I will be relocated to KL soon and will be relying on public transport regularly for work. I have been recommended to get a Touch N Go instead of MyRapid since TnG can also be used for highway, parking etc. However does MyRapid has cheaper fare comparing to TnG? Do they also have monthly packages that allow passengers to make unlimited trips for a fixed price?

QUOTE(Fasha1993 @ Jun 26 2016, 10:48 PM) i hv same thought too..which one is cheaper? For your information, I traveled using TnG from PWTC to Raja Chulan (5 stations) last month which cost me RM 2.80. Can we do a comparison based on your experiences if you remember how much you paid for your fares? This post has been edited by Heavenly Superperson: Jun 27 2016, 12:33 AM

I take lrt from kelana jaya n dropped off at kl sentral - fares is Rm3.40 Then from kl sentral to raja chulan costs me another rm2.80 So total cost for my daily trip is rm6.2*2= rm12.40 I need to save more on this coz my current company doesnt provided transport allowance.

If you have not intention to take up the monthly pass, just get the TnG as the cashless rates are the same for TnG and MyRapid Card. You can refer to below for the fare table as Rapid has revised it based on the distance you travel http://www.myrapid.com.my/deals/promotions...norail-services

If you use cashless, both T&G and MyRapid costs the same.
MyRapid will only save more money than T&G *if* you pay the RM10 monthly rate or RM2.50 weekly rate. You have to do your own analysis if you save money however. My analysis for my trip from Puchong to KL is the following:
cashless fare (TnG or MyRapid without monthly rate): RM4.20 x 2 (return) x 22 (working days per month) = RM184.80
with RM10 rate (MyRapid subscription): RM3.70 x 2 (return) x 22 (working days per month) + RM10 = RM172.80
So I save RM12 per month.

Token is the blue thing you get, for a one way fare. Cashless is basically TnG or MyRapid. Read up on weekly/monthly on the website. The website also suggests routes based on your starting and ending destination. This post has been edited by tishaban: Jun 27 2016, 09:50 AM

Actually to Raja Chulan, u can stop at Dang Wangi or masjid Jamek stn & walk abit to Raja Chulan. No need to switch to monorail which is so pricey. Just a short walking distance of <1km depending on which part of raja chulan. Similarly, I did the same if I want to go Bkt Bintang from Puchong. I took lrt till Hang Tuah stn & thereafter walk to Low yat plaza or even pavilion! I don't switch to monorail This post has been edited by stimix: Jun 27 2016, 03:08 PM

If Menara Std Chartered, I suggest you stop at KLCC & use the canopy walk to Pavilion which is just a short distance away from Std Chartered building. Cooler with aircon covered walkway. Nevertheless no harm walking to Std Chartered from Hang Tuah. I even walked from Hang Tuah to KLCC! This post has been edited by stimix: Jun 28 2016, 07:19 AM

Well still cheaper than cash for sure. HOWEVER, TNG - You cannot reload in any LRT stations whereas u can reload rapid card via the machines

want to ask about Rapid Park & Ride only can use MyRapid card right? but they did not mentioned which package can Smart 30 loaded MyRapid card use for RapidKL parking? or only normal Stored Value MyRapid card can be used?
currently use Smart 30 for my daily travel between KJ to Ampang Park if Smart 30 cannot use for parking, then gonna have to buy another MyRapid card just for parking
cant wait to board at new Lembah Subang station tomorrow!
