a much deeper reformat did it (wiping system instead of just wipe data on my note 5)

I tested in my cousin note 5 and it is ok. You try to factory reset your phone and see?

Why use stock browser? So far, the best mobile browser imo opera. I use chrome in my pc. So, chrome mobile just to sync my bookmark in my phone only.

I checked on an older version of Samsung browser. Everything looks fine.
