So, I won't say I'm skillful in photoshop but I know the basic - advanced stuff of the tools and tricks. In a few days time my 5th monthsary with my gf is coming up and I want to do something using photoshop and her picture, what can I do with her picture on photoshop? I tried changing it into cartoon style but it doesn't look that great, any other ideas and if u do please give along a tutorial or a keyword for me to search on google, so I can work on it.

try Jixipix there is a free module you can use.. may serve your purpose.. The rest you will have to pay but are fair price. It can do some excellent oil or water color. Have fun and dont get distracted with the options.

IMO, if you are not great with photoshop or that you don't have friends who can expertly do photoshop for you, perhaps you should look something else to impress your gf? Like using the time to survey and take her out for fancy dinner?

Or maybe go to Art & Design forum thread who maybe can give better advice or even offer their services if you ask nicely.
