Lol if 980Ti is less than 1.5k then RX480 no need to sell at 1.3k..

hmm.gif Always happen with AMD products so far.. hype hype hype then crash. People tends to think AMD will somehow release an extreme performance product at lower price compared to NVIDIA. Same thing with AMD processor vs Intel.

The problem are

1. Sites that "leaked" hyped things up
2. People go buy their reports

People should learn by now - whatever the brand presents, DO NOT ACCEPT IT!

First thing I did when AMD presented their stuff was to question rather than accept. tongue.gif I do the same for others too. Every brand will use the BEST benchmark to generate an idea (usually that's greater) than what they can deliver, for some reason I don't know why.

For me it's simple, what they present is fine, just take what is presented and expect LESS from it. That's why even before I received the card I already predicted R9 390 / GTX 970 performance.

It's only logical, the price so low and you expect it to beat GTX 980? biggrin.gif That'll kill everything, even their own products.

Lol too much info biggrin.gif

But nowadays really getting more expensive.. Second most powerful in the series already RM 2k... last time RM 2k can buy most powerful.

First first I want go for Gigabyte but Asus design and those lightning is interrupt me  doh.gif

From my experience MSI provides better warranty claim biggrin.gif

Last time they replaced my GTX460 even though they couldn't find any issue from their side. The problem is very random so it's hard to be reproduced. But they still exchanged the card for me.

RX 480 is supposed to compared to GTX 1060, not GTX 970 (tech from almost 2 years ago)...

In Malaysia, best bang for the buck should be GTX 1070. GTX 1070 at RM 1999 is 1.53x more expensive compared to RX480, but also 1.53x faster at stock. It can even be overclocked to 2000MHz to 2100MHz (28% increase), making it almost 2x faster compared to RX480.

Yea it will bottleneck GTX1070 if you run Prime95.
Yea also if you run the game at 800x600 biggrin.gif

No, for games at Full HD and above.

Can't agree more with that. AMD never failed with their joke.

That RX480 standing in btw 970 980, they forget those card sell like hot cake old days and 1070 1080 release without any competitor.

So now RX 480 have to compete with used 970 980. God, what AMD thinking.
*
Well NVIDIA can release benchmark for GTX970 (or GTX1060) vs Fury X using Project Cars too, and bam! hype!!

Because hot air exhausted OUTSIDE the case (reference cards) is always better than lingering hot air circulating INSIDE the case (as in the case of AIB cards).
*
The way I see it, those open-air cooler designs are better for cooling performance and silence. If you have case with even average airflow, then open-air is the way to go, in terms of cooling and noise level. It also allows the use of multiple fans for slower rpm.

The blower style is very limited in terms of cooling performance. If you increase the fan speed, it will be noisy due to "tunnel" and air flow speed. There is also a limited space for the heatsink.

I wonder why is everyone getting FE edition but not AIB? Isn't AIB performing better?

Still better value than RX 480. If 239 = RM1500 , 249 = RM1600

tell me how u choose? RX 480 or this? Simple right?
*
I'd choose GTX1070 at RM 1999 lol.

Edit: If it's 1280 cores, GTX1070 will be faster than this by 50% clock to clock.

To make this 1060 enticing, Nvidia is now pressure to price it significantly lower than the RM1999. If it's too close, people will either go 480 or 1070.
*
Hmm, maybe that's what they want tongue.gif Get more people to buy GTX1070.

As mentioned, at 1280 cores, they'll have to clock GTX1060 at 1950MHz so it can be as fast as GTX980. I really doubt they'll clock it that high for stock speed. This is probably "at GTX980 speed at best case scenario again" biggrin.gif
