I did my 1st ever operation on my ankle under Dr Gan. My ankle ligament tear and bone chipped off resulting from a soccer game. He did a good job on my ankle, but due to the fact that his fees are real high, I went to my current doc, which does a good job in surgery but just the follow up are not to my kind i'm looking for. He's somehow attached to NSC, that's why he fixes most of our national/state athletes. [/quote] Hi! I know its been a long time. Am considering ankle surgery with Dr. Gan Eng Cheng. Would you recommend him? Would be great to hear about your progress. Happy with your mobility? Cheers, bro! |

Although he did a good job on my left ankle , i dislocated my right ankle a year later, he suggested surgery, went for 2nd opinion and was told its not needed. That was 2001 when it happened. Today my right ankle is as good as nothing happened. As for my left ankle its all good until today as well. Rehab and Post-rehab is important after surgery. |

QUOTE(morph @ Jan 15 2007, 10:11 PM) Just wondering anyone had a knee surgery before? ligament or meniscus tear? Every patients has different complication after the surgery,I got my ACL tear on May 2005, but it was repaired. 3 months later, meniscus and ACL tear AGAIN!! Doctor advised me to stop aggressive sports. But it seems that my 2nd surgery was not done well i think. Need some 2nd oppinion. The doctor who did my surgery did not much emphasize on rehabilitation, but each time there is sore or discomfort, Arcoxia or Glucosamine is the only asnwer from him. From google i found KL Sports Medicine Centre, but it would be better if forumers could recommend me a doctor thru their experience. Thank you in advance. |

I am looking forward to recon my ACL and meniscus.
But the case is I am not sure whether the insurance will cover me because the injury happened back in 2009. I am now at this company that has ING insurance covered for employees. So, I am not sure whether by following the procedures - go to GP, request for referral letter, send copy to ING, and ING WILL issue letter of guarantee. Then only I can go to specialist, which I believe will make a case for surgery. I do not know whether insurance will cover me or not being the injury was back in 2009, which is pre-employment case. Btw, my insurance limit is RM18,000 per year. |
