From the description below, the total ram I can get is (including upgrade)..?
Model: Hp Pavilion 15 ak031tx
4GB DDR3L-1600 SDRAM (1 DIMM) Memory slot non-accessible (1 Slot- support up to 8GB)

Do you know roughly how much is it to upgrade? price of ram? there is always garage sales., browse there  search for sodim DDR3L (not ddr3 cz different voltage). if you want cheaper... buy 2nd hand. but buy from trusted seller. as long as working ram. if want peace of mind. buy new 1... if me.. buy 2nd ram. as long as its working. save $$$

You have to use something to unhook it like a credit card or a small screw driver. When you break these hooks, HP will claim that you tempered with the laptop, causing a warranty void.

You should buy the ram first before go to HP shop otherwise DDR3L price from any brand is very costly.
