Hi guys I can't decide to get which from these two models. I just need a laptop for office work. No gaming, just ordinary use & around the 2k budget.

What I plan to do is change the HDD to SSD once I got it & check if I can upgrade the ram if there is an extra slot.

Tips.

1. You can alwayd request dell to provide you the ram is 4gbx1 or 8gbx1, so there will be an extra slot for addiotional ram.

2. Instead of ssd, you should try the latest SSHD unless if you plan samsung/sandisk ssd that can boost the speed so much.

3. If for work i prefer to get XPS but since your budget is thight then go for vostro. Vostro and xps are considered as the lightest model.

I chat with the sales agent online. They said they dont provide 8gb ram but I can upgrade when the technical person comes. hmm.gif rclxub.gif I believe the insprion 14 only have 1 slot for ram.

Yup unfortunately due to tight budget I have narrow down my budget to this two models. Went to digital mall to look for their display unit but they dont seem to have the model that I am looking for. sad.gif Wanted to check it out on hand before making the purchase online.

Seriously Inspiron 14 only 1 slot for ram? Ok i didnt know that. If thats the case then maybe the best solution for you is 8gbx1 or 16gbx1 but not sure if the mobo supports 16gb per slot.
