And last, where is /k/ booth located? ;p |

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Jul 26 2016, 10:34 AM) Err MIDE closes at 7pm. The counter won't be open on Friday night. You need to register on the day before you enter. Bring your own pen and fill up while queueing. It can be quite crowded during registration. I would say Saturday and Sunday go earlier. If after 12 noon then sure very long queue already. QUOTE(EvanSoon @ Jul 26 2016, 10:34 AM) waa, thank you for the heads up. WIll go early saturday then |

QUOTE(KiraTomaru @ Jul 26 2016, 10:52 AM) im might go on a saturday but pre register online since its much more convenient + isnt the admission fee half to zero if you do so,well zero if you bring people but im going alone... but the online registration is already closed i believe. If not, admission is RM4 but you'll get RM5 voucher. |

Anyone here ever dived in Pulau Kapas before?
Is it possible to do shore dive there? And is it possible for me and my friend to just rent the tank & equipment a la carte no package? for 1 shore dive? |

QUOTE(babychai @ Mar 1 2017, 03:34 PM) Dear All Sifus, Thanks for your all valuable information. advice taken. How about free diving? cheaper right? since its not involve much equipment QUOTE(Sham903n @ Mar 2 2017, 12:25 PM) certification is the same price as owd (ssi/padi).. I also wonder why.. but freedive trainning and knowledge is absolute must. Looks like we need another thread for LYN FREEDIVER lol.Real risk everytime you dive, very high skill breathing technique or else you blackout and die (never freedive solo) also never freedive after scuba dive... before scuba is ok dive trips by organizer price about the same as scuba.. only self organize are really cheap, just need to rent boat.. freeding fins are RM380 above.. you can get cheap at MIDE around RM260 or buy used ones. freeding mask (RM160 above) are low volume self equalize with every good view even thou glass look small, dont be deceived by the looks. Its design with input from sprear fishing community who need superb field of view to target prized fish hehehe too bad malaysia need licence to own speargun... same like firearms... dammit malaysia.. this is money making tourism and selective fishing unlike trawler fishing.. you will dive like a mermaid be at home with the fish around you .. no interuptive bubbles... dive longer than normal people (without training & knowledge) and have a calmer state of mind.. probably because of the breathing trainning and skill needed you can use freedive equipement for scuba.. freedive fins are long so you kick less during scuba.. you can still freedive with scuba fins but takes too much energy(o2) expensive to start: training and equipment cheap to maintain the sport: (freedive trips organized with friends are very cheap..) skill level : high risk (with proper trainning) : low satifaction : high Anyways price for license for Freediving is same price as OWD i also dont know why despite shorter course duration and less equipment. Fundive for freediving is almost free, just join a snorkelling trip and you are good to go, but remember to have a buddy. Anyways, i'm planning to visit Tenggol this 11-12 March. Any ideas if the monsoon season has ended yet? |

QUOTE(Sham903n @ Mar 5 2017, 08:39 PM) lol That is not a death video, its a Shallow Water Blackout. btw.. this is how real freediving death is.... not as easy one might think.. thats why you need trainning, probably why its cost as much as OW cert.. look how he drop back down like a rock.. near drowning must go to doctor to check for water in lungs.. people still can die few days later drown in their sleep.. https://www.facebook.com/SpearReviews/video...90518494371927/ It is true indeed, certification for freediving is important, i didn't realize that until i took the course myself. Freediving up to 20m is actually really safe and can be done by everyone. |

QUOTE(Sham903n @ Mar 7 2017, 06:23 PM) did you get yours already.. MIDE cheaper.. got mine there at 360.. go 1st day and early morning.. why? they might not restock if sold out.. That is like super cheap..went to MIDE last year, but not yet into freediving so didnt buy any freediving stuff, but from what i see prices were controlled. Reason is so that those small shop get equal opportunity. Havent got mine yet, still looking for long fin |

QUOTE(persona93 @ Mar 9 2017, 10:30 AM) just dropping by to ask how much will it cost to get started in FreeDiving The cost in Malaysia vary ranging from RM1000-RM1200.read at Padi website about freediving and it says that each centre varies with their prices anyone can share some insights? Cost in Thailand is relatively cheaper from RM700-900 but then need to factor in transportation cost and our weak MYR |
