Just finished my 8th dive for the weekend. Had lots of fun, made lots of new friends. Solo diving trip isnt so bad afterall.

Batu Caping is my new favourite dive spot after T3 in Perhentian. Too bad i couldnt enjoy Temple of the Sea much because my new prescription mask got fogged twice (both at temple)

ah... back on land (sadly).  Pulau Bidong / Pulau Yu - off Merang - makes for pretty good diving, lots of fish, saw some turtles, nurse sharks, and clownfish   low currents, decent viz of up to 15m.  warm waters.  Healthy corals.

Seamonkey Divers - good, with a big boat to take us out, and plenty divemasters. On last dive i counted one instructor and two divemasters looking out for us.

Overall, i'd say it's one place to try out. beats the crazy perhentian crowd.

I stayed before. Room is quite clean, bed is normal for me.
After all, location is quite near to the beach also.

The only thing that not satisfied is the pillow. Too high n too hard.

i agree with all of these before moving on to AOW. Of course you can just move on to AOW, but if you can't even do these basics, going to AOW gonna be making yourself malu only when a OW diver is doing all these better than you.

problem is for OW, after so many leisure dive.. they give up scuba all together due to lack of variety..

i think the best way to put it is everyone has their own pace,no two people has the same pace. like for my case when i started appearing in this thread most people thought i was insane to jump through many loopholes before being serious but i already laid out a solid plan and intend to keep to it as per how i did things during my earlier school days although im still studying   

all in all if you think you can keep up with your own rhythm go wild other wise its best to keep your feet off the gas and slow down

If anyone ask me, first hand experience OW straight continue AOW, go ahead.. if you comfortable with water as me (I'm a state swimmer and a life guard qualifier during my school days).
On my 1st day AOW, I done Night Dive, Underwater Navigation (in the dark) and Deep Dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy the next day.. I had a great DM with 9 years experience with more than 6000 dive experience. Final note... OW+AOW.. do it!
