Hi guys, what is your opinion on ADEX - Asia Dive Expo in Singapore. Is it worth it to visit or item on sales during the show. But bear in mind the currency depreciation huhu
*
I went last year to ADEX SG

if you are trade visitor, then yes, good to get info and seek opportunities

for retail visitor, after taking account the travel, accom, total costs, i'd rather go local dive shop, or wait for MIDE.
of course if u just happened to be in SG at the time, then by all means, you can get some good prices even after exchange rate.

Hi guys,

I'm interested to learn diving. May I know any center that offer affordable price? My budget is below RM1k.

Any instructor or center to recommend?

Thank you smile.gif
*
diving, there is no way you will EVER save any money biggrin.gif

you will want to go with a decent, recommended instructor. It makes all the difference, whether you fall in love with diving, or never want to go to the water again.

your course should be around 1,000. then factor in your food, accom, travelling.

Thanks all the sifu replies smile.gif

i had tried marathon & hiking. now want to try new hobby but not the expensive one.
thought want to try diving because i like swimming. since this hobby is quite costly maybe i KIV first  sad.gif

see, we scared off the potential happy diver!

go for OW course, then see how it goes, step by step. since u like adventure, it will be great.

generally for a dive holiday to Tioman, e.g., budget around 1000, enough.

Tenggol on 23rd! yippeee.. Scuba101 again.

Hi guys, newbie here need some advise.

I'm going for AOW at tioman next week, wondering whether do I really need to buy a wet suit, salesman at dive shop said it will cold especially during the night dive.. But I was thinking, how cold could it get at a tropical island like Tioman lol
*
yep its up to you. i have a wetsuit but it's rarely used.

in Malaysian waters, night diving, is same temp, only thing is on the boat, with the wind chill factor. maybe a windbreaker and a towel will do. ii'd suggest you use the DC wetsuit before you invest in one, for your course. Later when you're really into diving then you can make the purchasing decision. The salesman of course will push it to you maaaa

Will be in Perhentian next week. Anyone? From the 13th onwards... (i didnt buy my return ticket! biggrin.gif)

Anyone tried diving in tun abdul Rahman marine park?
*
If you are in KK and have a free day, then, ok go for it. decent diving, could be low viz. Macro is there, for bigger stuff i've seen turtles, barracuda vortex.

Too bad the shipwrecks have disappeared, metal scavengers took the whole thing away

Which dive center did u go to? How about manukan island or sapi island?
*
my last dives there has been with Diverse Borneo.

dives will usually be around Sapi, Gaya, and surrounding areas. it's all within a relatively small area, so just go with the flow of the dive boat plan. Three dives a day, with lunch break at Sapi.
